"Oh my, look how beautiful you are." The servants praise y/n in her wedding dress as they prepare her for the wedding.

Y/n doesn't reply to them, her will to speak has been swept away, along with her will to live at that point.

"Oh c'mon now darling, most women would be joyful on their wedding day!" One servant boasts as she sets the veil over y/n's head.

Y/n scoffs. "That's because they aren't being forced to marry someone they don't love." she rebukes spitefully, her venom laced tone causes an uncomfortable silence in the room.

"Ladies, how is everything going?" The governor cheerfully calls out from behind the door.

The servants all look to y/n, seeing as she is prepped and ready to go, yet they know by the dreadful frown on her face, she does not want to go through with this.

"Ladies?" The Governor calls out again, followed by a harsh knock at the door, letting everyone in the room know he was getting agitated.

"Lady y/n is ready." One of the servants replies. She gives Y/n an apologetic smile, but Y/n returns the gesture with a scowl, too angered by the ordeal to even care about others feelings.

"Very good, send her out. The guest are arriving." He demands, waiting for his daughter to come out.

One of the servants silently hands over the bouquet, feeling sad that y/n has to go through with this. "Good luck, my lady." She gives some words of encouragement, but y/n rolls her eyes and stomps over to her door, where she opens it and comes face to face with her father.

Of course he's also accompanied by his guards, they are there to make sure the bride does not run away.

"My precious daughter! Look how beautiful you are!" The Governor praises his daughter's appearance, yet she feels very disgusted.

She does not feel beautiful at all. She feels used and abandoned. She feels pain and heartache swirling like a funnel inside her chest, destroying every nerve of emotions she has left until it leaves her numb.

She feels like she's dying.

After a few moments of awkward silence, the Governor clears his throat and puts away his smile, reverting himself back to his usual stoic approach, the one he always uses on his daughter.

"Come now, the guests are arriving." He holds his arm put for her, but she brushes past him, being escorted by the guards to the waiting room until the ceremony starts.

She doesn't want to speak to him, nor even be in her father's presence. No amount of words can sway her father from changing his mind, for he is but a lost cause to her.

She walks to the window and gazes out into the garden, at the many visitors waiting to see the bride. She looks around, hoping to see a familiar broad shouldered man, but none of the guests fit his description.

"Perhaps he has already left town." She tells herself, unable to prevent the tears from escaping.

She finally met someone who has swept her away with their presence, a vampire thought to have only been a myth. But just like a cruel fairy tale, their fates have been divided, and perhaps it was meant to be this way.

Surely she doesn't want to believe so. The adventurer in her protests that idea, telling her that they will meet again and she will find away out of this.

No way will she subject herself to such an arrangement.

With her confidence unfolded, she tosses her bouquet aside and goes for the door, but the door opens, revealing the last person she ever wants to see.
