3rd PERSON POV (A few days earlier)

A letter falls through the mail slot and into the household of Mr and Mrs Springer.

It falls on top of a bunch of pizza boxes that are rested across the floor and piled up beside beer cans.

The house is a disaster.

Soon, a young lady with brunette hair marched to the door and picked up the letter.

The house was dark since the electric bill hadn't been paid and the curtains were closed.

This made it difficult to see the letter.

It wasn't until a few seconds later, a pounding knock smashed against the door.

"Springer! Open up!"

The poor girl shuddered, recognizing her landlords voice as he demanded his rent.

With a sigh, she opened the door, the sunlight making her eyes scream.

"Good afternoon, Mr Rolf... how can I help you-?"

"Cut the crap, Sasha. When you two moved in here, I expected a whole lot more from two soldiers. You know, with all the discipline you all had to learn from the military!"

"I know...I'm sorry. Connie and I have been trying to find work and get your money to you. We may have a good opportunity this month, please just... give us a little more time."

"Tsk... I've heard that one about a hundred times."

...

...

...

"SIGH... You have one more chance to make this money up, I want it by the end of next month... and clean up your house, will ya!"

"Yes, will do! Thank you Mr Rolf! I promise, we will have the money!"

"Tsk...I've heard that before, too."

The man mumbled... and with Sasha's trained ears, she heard him perfectly.

The woman watched in fear as her landlord left... all before a glare took hold of her features and she opened the letter.

What she was met with surprised her greatly...

With a slam of the door, Sasha stormed over to the back of the house and into the kitchen where her husband was drinking a beer.

Suddenly, his drinking was interrupted by a letter which his wife coldly threw onto the table.

"Letter."

Sasha said, opening the one curtain so he could read it.

The sunlight reflected off of the boxes and packets all around. Pizza and Ramen noodles seemed to be the main two meals.

As Sasha grabbed a glass of water, she heard Connie scoff before tossing the letter aside.

"So...aren't you gonna go?"

"... I've got more important things to do."

She smashed down the glass... she had had enough.

"Oh, you DO?! Like WHAT?!"

"I got a game to watch...Doughbell is playing against Talkston. "

"Does the thickness and length of that hair make you deaf or dumb, or perhaps blind? How are you gonna watch with no electricity, we haven't paid the bill!"

"I'll go over to Jean's house-"

"He's on his honeymoon with Mikasa! You know... because he EARNS A LIVING instead of sitting around all day!"
