She had always been different and she knew that and found comfort in it. She wasn’t your typical spoilt high school cheerleader type-girl, but she was the direct opposite of all of that. Katarina was her name and she was a humble soul who mostly kept to herself but was bubbly when it came to her parents, Kayden and Theresa Smith. They lived a happy life and were very rich but you wouldn’t be able to tell by just merely looking at her until she told you about her family adventures across the world, and her experiences doing activities such as sky diving or bungee jumping which she never talked about to anyone, except her only friend, Liv. They were both humble but came from rich families and went to Eagle Creek High, a prestigious school where only rich and snobby kids were all found including children of politicians, celebrities, famous businessmen and women.

The sun shone through the window in Kate's room and she opened her eyes slowly  before stretching and checking her bedside digital clock.“shit!...I’m gonna be late.” She said in a state of panic as she rummaged for a T-shirt and simple jeans in her huge closet, and grabbed the first of those she could find as she ran to her bathroom to take a quick shower. Within five minutes she was ready for school with her clothes on and her vans sneakers that she liked because of their simplicity and advantage in case she was in tight situations where she had to run. She had never experienced that but somewhere inside she always felt like a day was coming when she’d have to use her physical strength, and luckily for her she was gifted in that area.

Katarina or Katie as Liv would call her, looked in the mirror as she examined herself from head to foot and made sure her hair was combed neatly enough to be presentable, and it was. She looked at her face which also looked good enough for her even without make up. She was a natural beauty and make up was never her thing so she preferred a simple face lotion and she was good to go. Katie was gifted when it came to her body which made all the girls at school hate her besides her best and only friend because every time she entered all the boys would look at her like a piece of stake but she never really cared as she kept to herself and also the fact that she always felt that she had a much higher purpose in life than swooning over stupid high school boys who thought they were the ‘it’ when they just were just a bunch of good for nothing nobodies.

She had always loved all types of physical activities, from athletics to football to working out in their inhouse gym and the sparing and training sessions she used to have every weekend with her parents at home she was basically physically fit, some would even say too fit for a girl because she would even give her dad a hard time during their trianing sessions but that did not get in the way of her attractive body. She was fit but also, what some would call ‘sexy’ at the same time. She was the type of girl who liked boyish things but couldn’t be called a tom boy because she still maintained her feminine touch. She loved all the activities that most would call masculine as they gave her a rush that always got her excited from the thrill of pulling the trigger at the shooting range to the rush she felt when she and her dad went drift racing at a local drifting club, and don’t forget the rush she felt when jumping out of a moving plane. Liv would always say she would become a stunt woman, but she knew that this was something far from her mind. She wanted to do something with just the same rush but something that would also keep her brain active and calculating because she had a very intelligent brain, sometimes she found herself knowing things she’d never read or heard from anywhere. She had never failed her class impromptu quizzes or even the time she had missed school after being injured from falling off the roof of their two story house which shocked even the doctors because her injuries had been very little compared to what any other almost 18 year old girl would have gotten after falling off a two story mansion. Nonetheless the doctor had given her a four weeks bed rest before she was allowed back at school. During that time she didn’t even bother with studying even though she knew that her mid terms would be a week away when she finally got back to school. What also surprised her was the her parents didn’t once even bother to tell her to study and there was no worry evident when it came to her school work not even when Liv mentioned how worried she was for her.

After confirming that she was good to go she grabbed her bag and ran down the spiralling stares to the kitchen where she found her mother making her favourite breakfast as usual, pancakes, bacon some toast and a hot cup of coffee. She smiled as she went around the counter and hugged her mother with a smile on her face. “morning my beautiful mommy!” she said with a cheerful voice and her mother gave a beautiful hearty laugh. “ mmm mh all because of pancakes Kate?” she said with a hint of amusement as she looked at her daughter who gave a playful death glare. “mom!...I dont like food that much!” She whined as her mother laughed.
