“what does everyone know about project 001 anyways what’s so interesting about me that they want me so badly?” she asked nonchalantly, making it seem like she didn’t care much about the info. “come with me.” Stan said as he grabbed his suit jacket and led the way to the elevator. Everyone on the floor was surprised at the girl who walked with the commander seeming to be so relaxed and unbothered by the fact that she walked with the best spy agency commander in the states and even the world. They got in the elevator and he pressed the underground floor which she figured was the lab when she’d hacked into their system.
After a silent descent to the lab floor they exited and she saw different types of weapons which seemed to be state of the art and classified since she’d only seen some of them in the movies. She noticed that after looking at the weapons she would know all there is to know about them, how they worked, how they were made what type of ammo they used and even their weaknesses. They walked up to a guy in a lab coat who had his back turned to them seemingly doing something on the table. “Agent Mushtubhai..” the guy turned around with a fearful expression and gulped before speaking. “Good-day Sir…and Ma’am?” he said in a questioning tone. She gave him a nod and Stan brought his gaze back to him after looking around at everyone as they walked briskly around pretending to be busy with research or something work related. “pull up the project 001 files please.” he gave a nod as it dawned on him that Kate was the so called Project 001. After typing frantically on his computer he stepped aside and gave room to the two people occupying his work station. “ everyone leave the lab now, your services are no longer required for the day.” Stan announced to the Brainiac’s and turned to face Mushtubhai. “you are staying with us.”
After everyone cleared the lab, Stan told Raphael Mushtubhai to connect his computer to the big screen, Raphael is the best tech genius in the organisation and most trusted in the Organisation with international secrets. The screen showed a lot of files which seemed to have something to do with project 001. “About 2 decades ago at the turn of the century, the introduction of new technology led to the downfall of many powerful countries such as the soviet union or Russia if you will.New technology like nuclear weapons, biological weapons etc were being made by different countries. So here, in the US, the secret services organisations like the CIA,FBI,GBI,the American Clandestine Agency wich is us and the DOD thought of making biological weapons but instead of making a disease or virus like the Russians they decided to make superhumans.
The government agreed to sponsor the project but only if it was done outside the American continent to avoid the danger of being caught breaking human rights by the Global powers League, which is like the UN but consisting of the most powerful countries and its been kept a secret since the 1960’s. Anyways, the best continent for this project was Africa and since South Africa was already showing potential of being the most powerful in the continent, it was chosen for its abundant resources. Dr Antoniettee was head of the project and so, in order to increase the chances of its success, they put up a special surgery here in the states where parents who could not have children would go and get help. However they didn’t just help all patients they looked for the perfect couples, in terms of genetical strengths and others before your real parents were picked but either they miscarried, had still born or the children didn’t make it to their first birthday until your parents came by and you were born healthier and stronger than they’d expected. Rumour has it that you had a twin but its never been confirmed. Your birth marked the pinnacle of secret wars among the powers in the GPL as the ultimate US biological ‘warhead’ was born. The Serbians investigated the project and tried to retrieve Sophie Antoniette but instead she died in the process, leaving no one else with the information of how to create more warheads. She had been clever enough to never write anything down so when she died she died with everything and you had disappeared during that time, leaving the Serbs with nothing but a dead scientist’s blood in their hands and it earned them sanctions since there was no evidence of a bio-warhead tied to the states even though the Serbs were pretty sure that there was a warhead somewhere hidden.”
Kate was happy that she kept gathering more info but was shocked to hear that she had caused sanction to one of the Global powers. “so what is it that makes me so special that people had to die?” she asked in surprise. “ You may have noticed that you are different from other female species of your age group, both physically and psychologically. You were genetically engineered to be very strong, fast, agile, basically you’re a force to be reckoned with in the literal sense. You are also the most intelligent human out there because your birth parents were naturally gifted in the intelligence field with IQs higher than 165 so with genetic enhancements you became what DR Antoniette called ‘the body of the world's knowledge.’so that is why the Serbs tried to steal you so that they could study your genetic sequences and continue to recreate Dr Antoinette's work for themselves”
Kate felt like laughing realising that they didn’t really know what Sophie’s quote really meant but she kept her straight face. “So now what happens next, I mean there are no wars and I don’t think the country really needs me now do they?” she asked thoughtfully feigning ignoarance. “the country does need you Kate, not everything is black and white you will soon realise that here. There are always dark forces being fought with from the other powers,rescue missions,spy and security services,secret wars,clandestine missions and covert operations that happen with spies dying every single day.” Kate looked at him and asked sarcastically. “so now I should leave everything in my life and be the hero or the saviour of the world?and that's if i don't die too?”
Stan laughed catching Raphael by surprise, who had been quiet all listening to Stan explaining everything. Kate laughed a dry laugh and looked at Stan like he had grown a set of horns. “besides you could use the time to find out more about your origins during these missions who knows maybe you’ll stumble on something we don’t know here and even the twin of yours who may or may not have been a rumour."
Kate considered it and noticed that Stan’s words had changed her line of thinking and she decided she was going to do it at least she would be using the organisation as her shield across the international borders. “Okay I'll do it” she said finally. “Okay then, welcome to the organisation then miss Kate.You will come in tommorow so that we can register you in our database for recognition to the other organisations such as the CIA.” "is my mom's profile still active and does anyone besides this organisation know that she's dead?" Stan looked at her quizzically and said "yes it's still active and no we usually announce the death of agents like your parents after a couple of months, for now other agencies only know that they are badly injured and in recovery somewhere in the Roben Islands...i'm guessing you want to use her profile to stay hidden?" he said in more of a statement than questioning tone. she nodded in agreement and Stan spoke "in that case there's no need for registration then I'll just get your training schedule created and you can begin your training as soon as you are ready he shook her hand and so did Raphael after also echoing a welcome too. “so Rafael this stays between us three. ill leave miss Kate in your hands and I want you to give her anything she asks for no need to ask for clearance anyone who asks refer them to me.” Stan said to Raphael and left without waiting for a reply from the young man.
Raphael turned to Kate and asked ''so...where do you want to start miss Kate?" ''its Kate and...just get me the things in this list please and thanks.'' she said making a list on Raphael's notepad. After handing him the piece of paper Raphael read it and asked "what are these for?'' Kate replied. ''its a surprise.'' she said shrugging and going to open the weapons storage locker and looking at the different types of equip to find the ones she liked. Raphael soon returned with everything she asked for. i got everything you want,but if i may ask i understand why you want your parent's lockers and personal items but the rest of the stuff like the micro lenses and mini projectors what are they for?" Kate smirked and at him and said " its a project that will be my masterpiece when i get into the field after training." after that she grabbed everything and muttered a thanks to Raphael and left. she went to her parents lockers and opened them and took all their belongings as quickly as she could as she tried to avoid breaking down and risk being seen a mess. after that she closed them and hurried out of the building with her full backpack and went hom
