The guard led me to the dining hall, following the horrific cries. I shuddered. This man seemed not to hear the screams. How is that possible? He brought me to a table for 2 and walked away. The screaming continued to pierce the perfect silence of the depressing, rotten hotel. I looked around at the half eaten meals and half coloured place mats. I saw a few bodies being dragged out of the dining hall but death unfazed me now. I had seen enough death, pain, and loss in the short 2 hours I'd been in Florida than anyone needs to see in their lifetime. The reason that all these people suffered and were still suffering was unfathomable. I was determined to find out who did this and serve justice where justice is due. A man dressed in a bloody, tattered uniform approached me.
"Sir, my n-name is Xander and I will be your w-wai-waiter today. Can I sta-start you off with a d-drink?" No, but some answers sure would be nice.
"Water's fine, thank you." He raced to the kitchen. During our brief exchange, his eyes continuously evaded my gaze. Xander was shaking, his heart beat clear as day.
"Sir, h-here is your wa-water." Xander was shaking so much, water spilt onto the table. He set down the cup, shaking even harder. "O-oh my! Sir, I'm t-t-terribly so-sorry. Just, p-please don't tell my bo-boss." The poor waiter began to cry.
"I never thought to. Why? What's so scary?"
"I can't-can't say. " That's helpful. "N-now what can I get you to-to eat?" I stated fish and chips, an English classic. The now blubbering waiter returned to the kitchen, the screams grew more deafening by the second. I attempted to block them out just like the stone, cold guard. All my efforts were in vain. The shrieks continued to shatter my thoughts and leave ringing in my ears. Xander arrived with my food but I was too distracted by what was on the plate. There was a immense, crimson patch of blood. What happened to the screaming?
