My feet rubbed against the rough carpet, my heart pounding in it's ivory cage as dread flooded my brain. I stared at the phone as if I was attempting to move it via telekinesis . She deserves to know. An inner battle was raging, each side screaming their opinions in my skull. But how the hell am I supposed to tell her? Finally the 2 sides came to an agreement, I would call my mother. I picked up the phone ad dialed the phone as swift as a coursing river.

"Hello?" It wasn't my mother's voice that answered. I called Riley by accident! Inside, I kicked myself.

"Riley, hi!" Now I have to tell her.

"PAXTON! Oh my god, how's your trip?" Terrible, horrifying, my worst nightmare.

"Great! How's home life?"

"Good. My mom won some trip around the USA the day after you left. She promised to call but she hasn't yet. Too busy having fun I guess!"

"Aren't parents always to busy?" She giggled but I couldn't. Your mother is too busy being dead.

"Your's sure is!"

"She is? She only has Ray to take care of."

"She's got a little help now.."

"What?" Help?

"She has a new, uh..." I knew what she was about to say "boyfriend, Dante. I'm sorry Paxton."

"I-it's fine. I'm f-fine." Riley could hear me breaking.

"Paxton..."

"Riley..."

"It'll be okay. Remember, he left you. He chose to go. She's allowed to be happy again."

"You have a point."

"Also, do you have my bracelet yet?" Riley used a mock tone,

like the girls at our school.

"Nope. The only bracelets I saw were on the dead bodies." Did I just say it out loud?

"Dead bodies? Paxton, what is going on?" You don't understand, even I don't understand.

"Riley," I gulped "there's something you need to know...."

A/N Sorry for the short chapter. 10 and 11 will come soon. Just to clarify, Riley and Paxton are 17!
