In a swirl of wind, leaves flittered at my cheeks. I looked about, terrified at the complete silence of this empty place. The only person in sight was me, even though at least 1 guard had to be with me at all times. Out of nowhere, I heard a crackling noise. I turned my head to see dancing amber flames making their way across the hotel grounds. I began to run away from the scene but everywhere I went, I was greeted by the fire. It was as if the whole place was entrapped in the fire. I turned on my heels, searching for a way to find someone, anyone to get me out of here. I am alone and trapped in this nightmare of a place. I began climbing up the stairs of the nearest building and when I reached the second floor, I looked out at the horizon to see a break in the flames. Great, just great. I jumped as I heard the sound of a building catching fire. I turned to see the other building of rooms begin deteriorating. I raced down the stairs and ran as far away from there as possible. I reached a corner where there was no fire. I began to relax and devise a plan for my escape. I looked around and saw a fire escape. The fire escape was right near a wall. I frantically climbed up one more flight of stairs and saw that the gap between the building and the wall was further than I'd expected. I gathered all my courage and ran toward the wall. I leaped with all of my might and grabbed onto the wall. Using the little upper body strength I had, I pulled myself all the way up. Now I had to find a way down. I saw a pile of bushes not too far away and crawled toward them on the wall. I gulped when I saw how far down they were but it was either break my legs and get out or die in the fire. I dropped into the bushes and bent my legs as I landed to minimize the impact. Surprisingly, it worked. My legs hurt like hell but at least they weren't broken. I lay in those bushes in pain until I remembered I was running from a fire. I pushed myself off the ground and ran away from the resort. It was actually more of a fast walk. Like I said, my legs hurt. I stumbled across the road, trudging away from the site. Why did I think that was a good idea? I tripped over a small rock and I couldn't get up. I lay there, writhing in pain. I blew my chance to get away from the guards, to get home and be safe. I started to get light headed and soon enough I succumbed to the pain.

I woke up in a stiff bed with IVs in my arms. I felt a wave of pain come from my legs and I groaned. I felt like crap and I was confused. Where was I? Who brought me here? Most importantly, where were the guards?
"Good morning Paxton." I looked at the doorway to see the figure of the head guard looming there. "How do you feel?" He had such a smirk on his face.
"Great! Better than ever," I replied sarcastically.
"We found you on the side of the road. Why were you there?"
"I escaped the fire. I jumped over the wall because there was a giant fire that I had to get away from or else I would have died."
"Of course." He stared at me with his cold eyes. He looked malicious and I don't exactly know why. "Don't you worry, you're at a new resort. Tomorrow, we head to Animal Kingdom." With that, he cockily strolled out. I took this moment to really inspect the room I was in. It was off white from the years of abandonment and empty except for the bed. It was a pretty boring room. As I lay there, I wondered why I did this to myself. I had a chance to escape, to be free of this hell and I blew it by almost breaking my legs. I decided to get out of bed and check out where I was. I pushed myself up off the pillow easy enough. I pulled the IVs out of my arms. That wasn't pleasant. I swung my legs over the side of the bed and placed them on the floor. After a moment, I stood up and immediately collapsed on the floor. My head spun due to the hit it had received as I hit the ground. Once again, I made a stupid decision. I was really tired so I just feel asleep right there, on the cold floor.
I'm so sorry for my giant leave. I had really bad writer's block and High School has me pretty busy. If any of you readers have ideas for the rest of the story, let me know. It would help a lot. The chapter would be dedicated to you! Thanks!
