**Not smut** (someone asked to right cute couple thing so I wrote it)
[Please leave comments so I have ideas for what I should do next]
[not the best chapter but something about it makes it one of my favorites]
POV-Y/N
I wasn't paying attention in class today. My eyes were glued to my phone waiting for a response from Danny. He randomly texted me today saying "Be ready at noon we are going somewhere."
I texted him back telling him "I will be in a class then." He never texted me back making me worry about what he was planning. I kept on looking at the clock on my phone. It was finally 12 and there was no sign of Danny. I looked around to make sure no one was catching on to me checking my phone ever so often. The classroom phone started to ring at the front of the room. Everyone's eyes flashed to the front because of the noise. The professor picked up and started to look around for someone. I had no clue why his eyes stopped at me.
"Yup, Okay, Bye" The teacher then hung up the phone and looked back at me.
"y/n, your grandmother died," He announced throughout the class. It clicked in my head. Danny had a talent for making up things to get me out of my class so I can go places with him. I needed to play along for this one to go smoothly.
My face dropped to a sad, angry mess "I can't believe the doctors couldn't even save her. If they couldn't save her then why did they try." I slammed my hands on the table and stood up.
"Hey, it's okay to be mad," My professor said as he started to walk up to me. I almost cracked a smile because of how unbelievable this acting is. I have no clue how he was even buying this.
He set his hand on my shoulder and instructed me "maybe you should go home for the rest of the day and process this." Was Danny smart or was this teacher just that gullible? Either way, I was walking out of the class with nothing to do for the rest of the day. As I walked past one of the windows in the hallway I stopped and looked out I noticed that it had started to rain.
"What are you doing y/n aren't you meant to be in class?" Someone said from behind me. I spun around and was faced with a smiling Danny. His grin was so wide that it looked goofy.
"I'm sorry sir but my dear old gram has passed," I pressed my hand over my heart to act as if I was upset. He chuckled at my horrible acting and then pulled me into a tight hug.
"How did your teacher even buy this horrid acting?" He spoke into the crock of my neck. His warm breath tickled me as we stood there in each other's embrace. He pulled himself back from my neck and gave me a quick kiss on my cheek.
"Okay well, we should head out if we want to get to the place in time." We heard faint footsteps walking down the hall causing us both to look in the direction of the noise. As we peered down the hallway we spotted my teacher walking in our direction. I turned my face to Danny's chest and pretended to cry.
He quickly caught on and hugged me again this time whispering in my ear that "everything will be okay, I love you." We continued our little show as my teacher walked past us. As soon as the teacher was out of hearing distance Danny took my hand and pulled me down the hallway to the stairs.
"It would be nice to know where I was going instead of being dragged there," I said as Danny practically pulled me down the steps.
"You do know how a surprise works. Right?" He had to wait for me at the bottom of the stairs because he ended up dropping my hand. After all, I wasn't walking fast enough for him.
"Yes I understand it's a surprise and all but can you at least tell me what parking lot you're in so I can walk there myself?" I stopped a few steps from the bottom so I could talk. He held out his hand again for me to hold but all I did was cross my arms and stare at him.
"Fine, I'm parked in the back," I then grabbed his hand and we started to walk out of the school.
~
Danny pulled me into his side before we could step out from under the covering. He then took off his jacket and put it over my shoulders so I wouldn't get wet. His lips left a little trail of kisses on my shoulder before he slid the jacket over them. I spotted his car in the distance. Danny's car was a black BMW so it wasn't hard to spot next to millions of SUVs
"Race?" I asked looking up at him.
"What?" He was clearly shocked at my innocent question.
"You heard me Danny" I shouted as I raced to the car. He had started running a few seconds after I did. But since he was in much better shape than me he caught up quickly. It was no fun racing Danny because I knew he would always win, but this time I was determined to beat him to the car. I pushed myself to run faster and faster. The car was right out of reach when two hands wrapped around my waist and stopped me. Danny had caught up to me and instead of just running past he decided to stop me in my tracks.
While out of breath I said "Fuck you, Danny. I was close to winning and you knew it too." I turned around and stuck my tongue out at him as if to say loser.
He chuckled at my childish acts. "I did know you were going to win. But... I decided that I didn't want you to." We were out of breath from running through the parking lot to his car that now the rain felt nice on our skin.
"Okay bunny, we should get out of this rain otherwise we are going to be soaked." He didn't even slip up and accidentally tell me where we were going. I was dying to know at this point.
We climbed into the car and turned on the heat so we didn't catch a cold.
"Guess what place was going," Danny said as he started to back out of the parking spot.
"Can you give me some clues?" I asked while I clicked on the radio so we could listen to some music. The song 'Paper Rings' by Taylor Swift came on right away. Danny must have taken this chance to distract me by singing along to the song while taking glances at me.
"Kiss me 'cause I know you had a long night," He started to sing. I have heard this song before so I started to sing with him for the next lines.
"I like shiny things but I'd marry you with paper rings," I watched him as he sang every word like the song had been burned into his memory. He looked like an angel as he sang. I would do anything to see him smile every day next to me for the rest of my life. He looked over me with confusion because I was staring at him for the longest time. His look snapped me out of my daydream and I realized that the song had ended and another had started.
"You look creepy when you stare at me," He was joking but it still made me embarrassed.
"Sorry I was just lost in thought."
"You were thinking about me. Weren't you." He knew what I was thinking, and it pissed me off. I hate being read like some book. My thoughts are not for him to know, but I have to admit that his trick comes in handy once in a while. Mostly on the days when kinda out of it.
"Well, that look on your face just confirmed it," He laughed a little at my facial expression. I turned away from him and looked out the window.
~
We were driving through the forest where the trees are as tall as skyscrapers. This place looked magical during a thunderstorm. It was dark and gloomy in the kindest way. If I had the choice I would sit out here and read a book
about magical beings.
The car started to slow as we turned into a driveway. I turned my head from my window to look ahead. We were headed towards a run-down wooden playground and a covering. The wood was darkened by the rain. While the picnic tables under the covering were light in color meaning that they had stayed dry.
"How did you find this place? I mean there aren't even road signs out here." Danny put the car in park and shut it off. The sound of the rain grew louder with the absence of the running engine.
"My family used to come here when I was little so I just remembered where it was." He said.
There was a small pause before he continued to speak "I know that you like rain so that's why I bring you here right now."
"I would have been happier if it wasn't in the middle of the school day." As I spoke we both got out of the car. The rain drowned out the rest of the sounds in the forest leaving behind my voice.
"oh who are you kidding you love leaving school to hang out with me," Danny walked next to me putting his arm around my shoulders.
I looked up at him as we continued walking to the covering. His eyes met mine as he looked down at me. The hand that was placed on my shoulder moved down to my waist as he pulled me in closer. He closed his eyes as he left a kiss on my forehead. When he pulled back he whipped his mouth with the back of his hand. It threw me off a bit but then I realized that since we were out in the rain my forehead must have had rain droplets on it.
"That must have looked rude. Sorry." He quickly said as we continued to walk.
"No it's okay I realized that I must have some rain droplets on me," I quickly defended him.
He chuckled as he said "some? You're soaked." I hit his chest after I ran my hand across my forehead to wipe off the rain.
When we got under the covering I looked around taking in my surroundings. I turned towards Danny and saw that he was reaching for something in his back pocket. A small book emerged from behind him in his hand.
"What's that?" I asked as I locked eyes with him. I started walking over to him. He held the book out further than before for me to see. The old book read 'Pride and Prejudice'. The book was no larger than his hand.
"I got this for you," He said as he grabbed my hand and placed the book in my open palm. My hand was dwarfed by the book. In Danny's hand, the book looked pocket size.
"I have wanted to read this book for the longest time. Where did you get it?" I asked him the question while I flipped through the pages.
"It was sitting in the window of a used book store. And since you have said some times before that you would love to read it I picked it up for you." He said as he watched me flip through the book. The pages are a warm yellow and softer than a brand new book. I like the idea that many people before me flipped through this book hanging onto every sentence.
"Thank you," my voice sounded so distant as I started to read the first page. Danny walked up to me and grabbed the book out of my hands. I looked up at him as he held the book above his head. I reached for the book but I couldn't even brush past it with the tip of my finger. All he did was laugh and wrap his arm around my lower waist pulling me into him.
"What if I wanted to read the book to you?" He asked as he looked down at me. I started to give up on giving up on trying to receive the book from him. I wrapped my arms around his neck and looked up at him.
"I wasn't even reading that far into the book," I whined.
"As soon as I showed you the book you had wrapped yourself into it," He said as he hung his head down so his forehead was resting on my shoulder. After a short while, Danny dropped his arm down and pulled my waist into him. We stood there holding each other in our arms while we listened to the rain.
"I love this," I said quietly into his shoulder. He hummed tiredly as a response to my statement. I could tell that he didn't ever want to let go even if the rain picked up and started to blow in our face.
"Danny?" I said after a while of silence between us.
"Yes, I know," He said as he lifted his head and pulled away from me. There was a cold breeze that took over my  body. I wish I hadn't said anything so I could hold onto him a little longer.
"What's wrong? I thought you wanted me to let go." His voice was higher pitched than it normally would be. He did that a lot when he was talking to me when I look upset.
"I'm just cold, nothing big," I said while rubbing my arms to create friction to warm me up. He walked up to me and once again handed me the book. While being that close he wrapped this arms around me once again. His hug seemed desprit like he was scared of letting go.
"I love you," He said as he clung to me in the rain.
(I know it's not good but i tried my best)
