After the rodeo we stopped by the office to check the placings for cross country, still in first! I sort of skipped all the way back to the barn. "Cash," I whispered. He threw his head up, startled by my sudden presence. "Sorry Bud," I grabbed a couple carrots out of my back pocket, "Peace offering?" He gladly took the carrots out of my hand and ate them.

I plopped down in Katie's bed at her trailer and checked my phone.
From: Unknown Number, 10:23 pm. "Hey, it's Austin."
I put his number in my phone.
To: Austin Taylor, 10:27 pm. "Hey! Good job tonight btw!"
From: Austin Taylor, 10:29 pm. "Thanks, I was really nervous for some reason. I wasn't doing good practicing earlier."
To: Austin Taylor, 10:33 pm. "I thought you did pretty good."
From: Austin Taylor, 10:35 pm. "Anyway were you nervous about you're ride?"
To: Austin Taylor, 10:37 pm. "Did you not see the freak out I gave to Katie?"
From: Austin Taylor, 10:38 pm. "Why were you freaking out?"
To: Austin Taylor, 10:39 pm. "Its just a long story."
From: Austin Taylor, 10:40 pm. "Okay, come by the trailer in the morning?"
To: Austin Taylor, 10:43 pm. "Okay."

"Gooooooood mornin' Sunshine!" I banging on Katie's trailer door. I just got back from feeding Cash. I waited for about 30 seconds. "Katie Lynn Clark, unlock this door right now! I need my food!" After my crying plea, finally she let me into the trailer to change my clothes. I put on my tan breeches with sweatpants over top.

"Hey!" I said walking up on Austin practicing his roping. "Hey." He looked aggravated at something. "He isn't on his game today," Justin chuckled sitting in his chair. "Hey, cutie!" Katie said, skipping over to sit in his lap. I rolled my eyes and looked back at Austin, studying his movements with his rope.
"Okay, Austin, you're doing something weird with your wrist." I said walking over to him. "You need to stabilize your wrist some more you look crazy." I said trying to help him. "And what do you know about roping?" He said with an awful attitude.
We both stared each other straight in the eyes. I stared until my face matched his and thats when I snapped.
I jerked the rope out of his hand and walked away from him. I got the rope and swung it around over my head. I heeled him as he started walking over to me.
"Anymore attitude you want to give me?" I said keeping the rope pretty loose around his ankle, scowling at him. "Beginners luck." He said with even more attitude, trying to wiggle his foot from the rope. Instantly I jerked on the rope, making him fall back on the ground. I walked over to him, took the rope off of him and coiled it back up. He stood up and I shoved the rope into his chest. "Who said I was a beginner?" I turned and walked away over to Katie and Justin.
I grabbed my Mountain Dew and started walking towards my truck. "I'm going to give Cash a bath."
Katie jumped up from her seat and followed me. "Wait, I'm coming with you."✦✧✦✧✦✧✦✧✦✧✦✧✦✧✦✧
Cash was bobbing his head up and down as I sprayed the cool water on his back. He loved to have baths. I scrubbed him up and down his body making sure he came out shiny.
