Taking Luna from the nursery, Max slowly makes his way through pediatrics. Today was not his day.

Tomorrow won't be his day either.

In his mind, he knows there is no good way to fix any of this, but in his heart, he is hopeful.

He wheels her stroller into the nearest elevator and it opens to him immediately. Taking it down, he listens to Luna babble happily to herself and this comforts him. For a while it has felt like she doesn't love him as she used too. Those months upon months with Georgia's family has made her forget him.

The elevator opens up to the lobby floor and Max starts off across the vast nearly empty space. The echo of his feet radiating skyward to the glass ceiling.

"Dr. Max Goodwin!!" Turning around, he finds Helen running out of the stairwell towards him, her purse banging against her side and remorse on her face.

"Yes, Dr. Sharpe?" He says sadly as she gets closer

Crashing into his his body, Max has no choice but to let go of the stroller and hold onto her.

"I'm sorry. I believe you: Cassian set you up. He's an arsehole. I'm an arsehole." Cupping the back of her head, he sighs heavily out of relief and pulls back just enough to look at her face.

"He made her lie...didn't he?"

"Promised her thousands of dollars too. I over heard them both. Max, I'm so sorry I didn't believe you."

"It's alright. It is."

"Can you forgive me?"

"Of course I can. I love you." Kissing her gently, his hands rub up and down her back as her cheeks stain with tears.

"I just feel so horrible. I should've believed you. You've never given me reason not too."

"Helen, if I was in your shoes, I wouldn't have believed me either. Let's just go home." Pressing a small kiss to her forehead, they head off for his home and the whole way- Helen just leans into him as they walk.

There's so much running through her mind, but thinking hard about it- none of it matters.

The only thing that matters is that she and Max are together and their love is stronger than she ever would have expected it to be.

The End.
