Bettys POV
I clicked on the apartment. It looked about my size. Two bedrooms, two bath, a balcony and a pretty large living room/ kitchen area.I took a deep breath as I clicked the blue button. "Hello? Yes? The name? Oh it's um Betty. Last name? Uhm yes it's Cooper. No that won't be necessary I would just like to purchase the apartment. Yes please, how much extra for it to be Pre furnished? Really? Perfect! Thank you so much!" Betty exclaimed fakely ending the phone call. She had really just bought an apartment. Jugheads money in the name of Elizabeth Cooper.
It's been a week since she admitted her feelings to jughead. He tried to make conversation but she had ignored him. She felt humiliated even having to show her face around him.
She got out of bed her heart still beating 10 times faster than it should be. She started packing up all her stuff.
She's moving out. Tomorrow.
Thankfully she's buying it pre- furnished, so it'll be easier.
She spent all night packing her things in hopes to make jughead happy again.
The next morning she woke up before he did. She loaded her things into her car and went to the couch. Waiting for him.
"Betty?" She heard. She turned around, butterflies in her stomach.
"Hi. Well I just wanted to thank you for everything." She smiled at him genuinely . He looked at her confused. "I bought an apartment last night. I'm moving out. With your money. I promise you I'll pay you back please just be patient with me" she ranted.
Jugheads eyes filled with tears he looked away. "No-no darling you can't move out. You can't please" he begged. Actually crying.
Her eyes filled with tears. "Jughead please understand" she whimpered.
"But I thought you loved me? And and" he ranted she stopped him by hugging him. Inhaling his scent. "I do. I'm so in love with you. You have no idea" she giggled. "My stuff is in my car already. I just wanted to- to say goodbye" she pulled back from the hug before he picked her up hugging her. Her legs wrapped around his waist.
"Did I do something?" He asked still crying lightly. "Baby nothing. You did nothing. It's just me. Jughead I promise you'll be happier" she said signaling for him to let her down. He hugged tightly as if it was last time. He then grabbed her cheeks and kissed her. She was shocked but went with it. "Bye juggie. I love you so much" she said before she walked to her car.
Jughead couldn't get words out he was to busy trying to hold in his sobs as he watched her walk away.
The love of her life just walked away, and he didn't even try to stop her.
Jughead skipped work that day. He cried, and cried, and cried. Nothing felt worth it anymore. Nothing.
Over the next two months Betty got a job, and started building a life. She didn't have many friends, but was coping. It was rare that she didn't cry herself to sleep thinking about jughead. She missed him so much. It felt that it was the only thing she could think about. Everyday after work she debated on stopping at his house just to see him. The hoodie she kept didn't smell like him anymore. The only thing she had left of him was their picture in her phone case.
Jughead however. He waited and waited everyday for Betty. He'd went to at least three apartment complex's in hopes of finding her, he even tried to look at where the payment was taken from to buy the apartment. He drank often to distract himself. He still went to work everyday but nothing felt the same. He was distant. It felt as if when she left she took him with her. He'd felt numb since she left. Like nothing had a purpose anymore. He stopped caring. He never wore his seatbelt in his car anymore, he didn't lock his doors before going to bed. He didn't even eat anymore.
After she left jughead had developed a eating disorder. He barely ate anything during the day. 'Now that she left what do I have to lose?' He would ask himself. He even occasionally brings home women in hopes to forget about her. But that's the thing, does he really want to forget about her.
"Great job today Betty! See you tomorrow!" Her boss exclaimed as she grabbed her keys. "See you" she smiled fakely as she exited the doors.
She sighed. Was she really about to do this?
She got in her car, and started driving, her palms becoming sweaty on her steering wheel. She's driving to his house. His house in which she left only a month ago, it felt like it's been a year.
She pulled into the driveway, her heart rate increasing by the minute. After taking a deep breath she got out of her car and walked to the front door.
She debated on just opening it but she didn't. she stood there for a while debating on leaving before she knocked. No answer. She knocked again, no answer. Maybe he's not home?
She sighed opening the door. It's unlocked.
She went in, looking around. She went in his room, tears filled her eyes as his scent met her nose. He's so lovely.
As much as she tried to avoid it, she found herself grabbing another one of her hoodies, and putting the one she left with back in his closet.
She sighed putting it on over her clothes, his scent intoxicating her. She cried a few tears before quickly wiping them and leaving his room. She went into the kitchen, and then her room. It looked like someone had been in, as if they were looking for something. All her drawers were open.
She heard commotion at the front door, so she left her room to see what it was.
It was jughead kissing another girl. Him leading her to his bedroom. He didn't see her thankfully.
Had he really already moved on? She asked herself. Tears fell down her eyes. She couldn't move.
As much as she wanted to leave it felt as if the universe made her stay. So here she sat on the couch waiting for him to wake up after his day drinking affair.
She made herself some food in the kitchen as she heard moans from the other room.
What is wrong with me she asked herself? She ate her lunch, and put on the TV. She remembered when they had a movie marathon after their date. She wanted to cry at the thought of it. She loves him so much.
When she got done with her food, she took off her shoes, laying on the couch and eventually falling asleep.
