Chapter 2 : The Mission

Reyna's POV

"Hello my dear lieutenants. Please have a seat, we'll be getting started very soon." Artemis said, smiling at the two girls.

It took Reyna a moment to get over the shock. Artemis was Someone she was most definitely not expecting to see that day.

She was really hoping that Artemis didn't know about the whole "immortality sitch", as Thalia would affectionately call it. She wasn't sure how the goddess would react.

Reyna sat down on a couch and Thalia laid down next to her, putting her head in Reyna's lap and allowing the taller girl to play with her short black hair. It had become somewhat of a ritual between the two, as it calmed them both.

Reyna didn't mind, as running her hand through Thalia's hair was almost as amazing as Thalia herself.

Reyna looked around the room and saw many familiar faces. Annabeth and Percy were sharing an armchair. Jason, Piper and Leo sat together on a couch, Leo was fiddling with something in his hands. Reyna also saw Katie, a girl she had met the last time she visited Camp Half-Blood, sitting in an armchair of her own.

"Sorry I'm late, got caught up in something." a voice announced from the door. Reyna whipped her head around and saw that it was Travis Stoll.

Travis sauntered over to Katie and plopped down on the couch next to her armchair. Reyna did feel sorry for Katie, she wasn't sure how the girl managed to put up with all the pranks Travis played on her. The only real explanation she could find was that Katie liked the older Stoll brother, a lot.

"You're not late Travis. Will and Nico on the other hand, are." Chiron said from his wheelchair. Why that Centaur was sat in his wheelchair so often, Reyna had no idea.

"Ahhh, don't worry about those two, I'm sure they're just caught up in their training." Dionysus piped up.

"Dionysus, we are not allowed to play favourites, remember?" Chiron chided.

"Yeah, because you never play favourites, except with Perry and Annabelle, of course." Dionysus shot back, effectively shutting Chiron up.

"So sorry I'm late, I was doing something." Will said as he ran through the open door.

"I'm something." Nico stated flatly, as he sauntered into room with a smirk.

The two boys sat down next to each other on the couch that Travis was sat on, with Will becoming redder and redder by the second.

Reyna looked down at Thalia and the two silently agreed to not only find out what happened between the two boys, but to also tease the two relentlessly about it.

Reyna didn't care if Nico called her "mom" or "mother" sometimes, she had basically adopted him after the war, but teasing someone with Thalia was quite possibly the most fun Reyna could ever have.

"Right, now that everyone is here, we can begin. Artemis?" Chiron announced, looking to the goddess.

"Well, we're still missing someone, but I haven't got a clue where she is, so I'll just start now," the goddess began. "You are all going to be paired into groups of two and sent out across the world to form alliances with other groups of godly descendants, except for Leo, who, as far as I've heard, is very close to picking up a certain Titan daughter." Artemis continued, nodding towards Leo, who lit up like a tree on Christmas.

"As adorable as Leo's reaction is, where will we all be sent, who are the pairs and how are we going to form those alliances?" Piper asked.

"The pairs are as follows: Reyna and Thalia, Piper and Jason, Nico and Will, Percy and Annabeth, Katie and Travis." Chiron announced.
