Reyna's POV

The week of preparation and training had now passed, and Reyna was completely bored. If it weren't for Thalia, she'd  probably already have gone into some woods to hunt for monsters.

Sure, being able to do magic with a wand was pretty cool, but it wasn't really Reyna's thing. She was a Roman legionnaire and a Hunter. She preferred fighting up close and personal, and she was still much better at it.

The only bit of magic that really interested her was the fact that Hecate had taught them how to make their wands disappear and reappear out of thin air, and the fact that she could turn her wand into her imperial gold sword.

Thalia seemed to feel the same, as she'd always complain about how she preferred close combat and the powers she already had to the magic they were being taught, as it was, in her words, "way too British and old," during their sparring sessions.

Hecate didn't seem to mind too much that the two girls would stop for about 30 minutes at least four times a day to spar with one another, or the fact that they returned panting and sweating with massive smiles on their faces.

"Hello ladies, I hope you're doing well today, because today is the day you meet the school's headmistress and the family that you will be staying with until school starts. I must warn you, they have also been through a war quite recently, so expect everything from PTSD and lack of trust to crippling depression and anxiety." Hecate announced.

"Ugh, gods how old and British is this school?" Headmistress? Why don't they just say "principal" like all normal people do?" Thalia asked.

"Thalia, be nice. We're in a different country, which means they have different values and the language they speak will be different as well." Reyna chided, but she couldn't stop herself from smiling at Thalia's comments.

Suddenly, something in Reyna's mind clicked.

"You mentioned they went through a war recently right? Did that have anything to do with those random and unexplainable events? Like that bridge being torn up?" She asked.

"Yes, very good Reyna, I see even the Hunt has access to global news." the goddess replied.

"Yeah, we do, I'm just too lazy to listen to 'em so I just get Reyna to tell me." Thalia said.

"Well, when you're ready, this will be the last time we see each other for a while. I cannot intervene in proceedings at Hogwarts, as they are all my descendants and the fates won't allow it. If you have any pressing issues you may consult either me or Artemis via Iris message, though we cannot guarantee that we will always be available." Hecate said.

"So let me get this straight, because neither of us are," Thalia began, gesturing to herself and Reyna, causing Reyna to chuckle. "We're being sent into a foreign school, with no knowledge of what awaits us and no backup?"

"Yes, that sums it up." Hecate answered.

"Perfect, let's get this show on the road then Rey." Thalia said, rubbing her hands and grinning broadly.

"Then it is goodbye for now, my dears. You have been quite the duo, and I have no doubt that you will succeed. You will be teleported to the entrance of Hogwarts, where you will meet a half-giant named Hagrid." Hecate explained. "Don't worry, he can be trusted, and they're different types of giants here." she added quickly, seeing the looks on Reyna and Thalia's faces.
