He'd heard from Percy what shadow travelling had felt like, but Leo never imagined he would feel it for himself. Then he couldn't help but think: Wow, it would've been a lot easier to get off Ogygia if I just IM'd Nico. Suddenly, the shadows recoiled and they landed near near a sign reading: WELCOME TO BUFORD.

He put down Festus, in suitcase mode, as he heard Reyna and Nico groan. "Not here again!" They both complained simultaneously. Calypso was looking around with her eyes the size of saucers and her mouth agap. He chuckled. "Close your mouth, Sunshine. You'll catch flies." Her face flushed red. "Oh, shut up." She grumbled.

(PLEASE GO BACK AND READ THE PART OF THE A/N IN BOLD ITALICS IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY!!!! IT'S VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!)

Only then did he notice Nico and Reyna both seemingly on gaurd, like something would jump out of the shadows at any moment. "Hey, you two okay?" He inquired. "Yeah... just not the best of memories." Reyna replied. Nico looked down guiltily, his face darkening. Leo decided not to push it any farther. After a bit of debating, they decided to head into town. Reyna and Nico were a bit reluctant at first, but finally agreed after a lot of whining, complaining, and, of course, some McShizzle charm, courtesy of yours truly.

As soon as we got into town, he could immediately tell something was wrong. For starters, there wasn't even anyone there! "You know, every city I've ever been to has been full of people. So why is this town like Her Royal Highness of cows' cabin?" Leo tried to lighten the mood, despite the ominous feeling surrounding them, by insulting their oh so favoured goddess (A/N: note sarcasm), but failed as, not even a moment later, he felt a cold presence seemingly wrap around his leg. He looked down in alarm to find a strange shadowy tendril engulf the lower half of his legs.

As he looked around, Leo realized that the others were in the same situation, except for Nico, who was having better luck keeping the strange black blobs of darkness away than the rest of us. A disturbing cackle suddenly cut through the deafening silence, piercing my hearing. He looked around, trying to locate the source of the sound, his trusty hammer in his hand and ready for turning faces into pancakes.

"Nico?" Leo then heard from his right, looking over to see Reyna waving her hand in front of said boy's face while the ghost king was looking up toward the roof of a nearby house, eyes wide. He followed his gaze, landing on a what looked like an overgrown scorpion with fur.

"We meet again, son of Hades." It hissed distastefully, leaping down from the rooftop as Nico's eyes contorted from a look of surprise to one of hostility. "So we do." He spat. "You know him?" Calypso asked while still keeping an eye on the monster and unsheathing her celestial bronze dagger, which Leo had forged for her about a month ago when he decided that Festus was near complete and that she would need to defend herself.

Speaking of Festus...where was he?

"Yeah. His name is Dr. Thorn, a manticore. I met him back when I was about 10, before I was taken to camp." Nico replied.

No, seriously. Festus was no where in sight.

"Yes, you were quite the adorable little child back then." Dr. Thorn taunted, emphasizing the word "adorable", the which Nico replied to with a growl, taking out his sword as Reyna soon followed by taking out her gladius.

Was he...?

"Enough chit-chat. What are you doing here?" She questioned.

He was.

"I was se-"

"We forgot Festus back at the WELCOME TO BUFORD sign." Leo stated bluntly. Everyone just stared at him incredulously, as if to say, seriously? That's what you've been thinking about this whole time? Why, yes. Yes it was.

Temporarily forgetting about the manticore, Calypso asked, "You forgot Festus?"

I nodded.

"As in your 'best bud', your prized dragon, your own creation, Festus?"

"Yup."

"And you don't have a remote control or something that you can use to activate him from a distance?"

"Nop-" He paused as sudden realization dawned over his face and he began digging around in his tool belt. Calypso sighed while the others just stared at him, dumbfounded by his stupidity.

Unfortunately, Mr. Needs-a-haircut-ASAP a.k.a. Dr. Thorn decided that he couldn't wait around long enough for him to even just tell his toolbelt to get out a remote. "Enough!" He roared. "By my lord's orders, I am to bring you back with me. I will not allow children to humiliate me once more!"

And with that happy note, the strange black blobs engulfed them as Leo's vision turned black.

I hope you enjoyed it!

Once again, really sorry for the (huge) wait!

I'll get the next chapter out as soon as I can!

And before I forget, this chapter is dedicated to @ava_hodge for getting the question right in the last chapter.

New question: Who is the oldest Greek God/Goddess?

Until next time, peace! ✌️
