Two figures walked beneath an arching hill, the solid bottom keeping the earth from collapsing onto their heads, before them was a thick forest, the distant sound of laughter a comfort to the younger man's ears.
"And you promise you won't mention it Eret?" Tommy had paused before the final stretch to his second home.
"I promise, I'm on your land after all." The younger nodded, telling himself he was being over cautious, it wasn't like he had reason not to trust his companion, he was being paranoid, maybe he cared for his pride too much or maybe he was just scared.
"Follow me" he pushed through the forestry, trampling the overgrown grass and ducking beneath stretching branches. "We'll need to take our shoes off here, there's a small river". He had scouted this route out the night before, believing it to be the quickest path to his home in the hill, delighted by the idea of a secretive tunnel through the woods. He untied the laces of his threadbare boots, plunging his feet into the cold river, the shallow rush of it making the boy gasp in shock."Fuck it's cold!" Eret only laughed at the comment, wading through the reeds and fallen leaves,
"It sure is a pretty place you've got here." Tommy looked around, taking in the small clearing, a single oak covering part of their van.
"I suppose it is." He smiled, Eret was right, it really was beautiful, then again it was picked out by Wilbur, of course it was pleasing.

"Eyyy big T!" Fundy shouted, running to help the two men across the last part of the river.
"Ayup fucker!" He smiled, taking the ginger's hand, "Got the grand prize with me" they laughed obnoxiously, Tommy waving his hand exaggeratingly elegantly to show Eret's supposed importance. Fundy helped pull him over the small riverbank, dirt flicking up onto his nose, he crinkled up his face, receiving more giggles from the simple action.
"So then Eret, I guess it's time we had a meeting." Fundy broke the laughter, starting towards the camarvan, "Come on then, Wilbur's waiting." They hurried towards the van, both ducking after Fundy to avoid the low ceiling before meeting Wil's stern gaze.
"Where the fuck were you?!" Tommy gulped, noticing Tubbo standing awkwardly behind his brother.
"I-"
"3 hours Tommy! It's half 11! You think you can just go off like that? We were fucking worried!" Tommy shifted from one leg to the other, eyes flickering to Eret for support.
"He was with me." The older man stated, "I wasn't so sure about this 'business proposal' of yours, I thought it might have been a trap, your second in command convinced me otherwise." He nodded towards the teen. "Sorry." Wilbur looked from Eret to Tommy, unsure of what to believe.
"I see." His tone was forgiving, they had a lot to get through. "Just don't do it again okay? We were worried." Tommy smiled, confirming his agreement, Eret had covered for him, he knew that; some day he'd repay him, whatever came of the future.
"Shall we get started then?" Tubbo interjected, giving him a quizzical look from behind Wilbur's back.
"I'll tell you later." Tommy murmured as the 5 of them gathered around the table.
"So," Wilbur smirked, now entirely focused on their little arrangement. "Business."
"What is it I can help you gentleman achieve exactly?" Eret questioned, rubbing his nose of what could only be the stores they had in the back room.
"Have you ever dealt with drugs, Eret?" Tubbo asked, a contagious grin spread across his face. The regal figure burst into a shocked laughter, the rest of them quickly joining in;
"What!?!"
"Drugs, Eret. Harmless stuff of course, but drugs all the same." Fundy chuckled, leaning forward charismatically, something he could have only picked up from Wil.
"I can't say I have, no."
"Then let us enlighten you!" Tommy offered, his mouth dry from laughter. "Our deal consists of this, you supply us with customers, those of which you can trust with the secrecy of our little system, and we provide you the safety of this little establishment, along with food, water, and anything else you deem necessary."
"And why me, may I ask? Why is it that you reached out to me for this job?" Eret replied, seemingly contemplating the offer.
"We thought you'd know people Eret, have connections and all. The problem we have at the moment is that some of our most likely customers don't get on too great with us." Tubbo supplied an answer to the man's question.
"But surely if you don't have any customers in mind your business will fail?"
"Ah but we do!" Wilbur exclaimed, retrieving a scrap of paper from his pocket. "I'm not sure if you know him, but he goes by the name of Alex Quackity; businessman and all time drug addict. He hasn't quite arrived yet but he's due to in the new few weeks. There are others too, Jack Manifold, Niki Nihachu. See, I have connections, Eret, just not too famous ones." Tommy laughed, recognising the names from his childhood; his brother really had been planning this for a while hadn't he. There had been letters delivered often to Wilbur, some by bird, some by post. Wilbur kept in contact with anyone he deemed interesting enough, neither of the brothers had patience for knobs, and there were a good amount of those out there.
"Jesus Wil, you've known some of those guys for years!" Tommy was shocked to say the least, he always knew his brother was ambitious but this was a new level. Wilbur pulled his beanie off, ruffling his hair as he pushed the scrap of paper forward.
There was a long list of names, some familiar, others meaning nothing to the boy. He could see the pride on Wilbur's face, no way were they giving up now; if Tommy's brother could do this much for the cause of a new adventure then Tommy would do everything for Wil. For the greater good, that's what it was, the greater good. The group looked at each other in a gleeful silence, consolidating their certainty in this new venture.
"Well I can see you're prepared!" Eret chucked, still slightly stunned. "I guess I'm in! I'll help you get some of those customers!

That afternoon was blissful, something no words could describe. Their spirits were high as they danced through the day, splashing through the river and singing around their fire.
"To us!" Wilbur cried, raising his drink to the sky, calling for them to join him in the toast. "And to the foundation of a great business, to the foundation of a beautiful friendship!"
Tommy raised his glass with him, the others joining in too; that day was so perfect, a fading sun, the smell of Wilbur's cigarette smoke drifting through the air and his friends beside him.
"TO US!" They yelled, breaking into laughter once again as spilled beer and orange juice mingled on the ground. Wilbur came over to him, lying down beside him and looking up at the sunlit sky.
"It's perfect isn't it?" Tommy nodded, letting his face relax into a content smile.
"It is, it really is."
