Charles woke up to the smell of coffee. It was 11:00 AM. Charles smiled to himself, remembering what had happened the night before. He'd stay up all night listening to music and reading. Charles got out of bed and brushed his teeth and got ready for the day.
"Morning, sleepy head." Raven said. "We were starting to worry." She said taking a sip of her coffee. "Yeah, Charles. What were doing up so late?" Erik asked. "Reading and listening to music. You can't blame a guy for having a little fun." Charles said taking a cup of coffee and sitting down. Raven and Erik looked at each other smiling. They too had a 'little fun' last night. Charles knew that his sister and his best friend were dating. He was for them, but at the same time a little jealous. Charles was actually happy being on his own, but sometimes he would wonder if he would ever meet the love of his life. Charles shook the thought out of his mind. "Hey, Earth to Charles. Anybody home?" Raven said. "Oh, sorry. What were you saying?" Charles took a sip of coffee. It was Erik's turn to speak up, "Uuummm....Raven and I have been talking, thinking...old friend...and we think that you should start dating." Charles started laughing. "You can't be serious!"
"Oh, we're dead serious." Raven said crossing her arms. She went over to Erik. "We want you to go out there and meet someone special. Don't you want that?"
Charles didn't say anything.
"You're sweet and kind, and a very good-looking guy." Raven continued.
"You forgot mutant." said Charles. "So?" Erik said. "So, what if she freaks out or something? You know I still can't control my powers." Everyone stayed quiet for a couple of minutes. "You should at least think about it Charles." Raven kissed his forehead, then left the kitchen. "Don't worry, old friend. You'll find someone who will accept you for who truly are." Erik said smiling. He got up, put his cup in the sink, and left. Charles sat there, thinking about what Raven and Erik had said. Maybe their right. Charles went for a walk. He needed to get some fresh air.
