Calum was back to being little, Ashton was still asleep, Luke was making lunch, and Michael was looking at Ashton's drawing which expressed a lot of concerning things. There were drawing of everything from what seemed to be abuse, to what seemed to be sexual assault and they were all from the point of view of the person this was being done to.
"Hey, why don't you wake up Ashton." Michael said to Calum.
"Otay!" Calum gasped.
Calum waddled off down the hall to their room, where Ashton now slept with them, to wake him up. A few seconds later Ashton came shuffling into the kitchen after an overly excited Calum.
"Good morning, darling." Luke said as Ashton sat next to Michael at the island.
"More like good afternoon." Michael said still flipping through Ashton's drawings.
"What time is it?" Ashton asked with a yawn.
"It's two o'clock." Michael said.
"Why didn't you wake me up sooner?" Ashton asked.
"We weren't doing anything today to we let you sleep in." Luke said placing a plate of food in front of Ashton, along with a glass of water.
"Have you remembered anything else?" Michael asked.
"Nothing important. It's a bit annoying. I keep remembering the useless stuff like how I never finished high school but not the important things like my parents, or my age, or my birthday." Ashton said.
"You never finished high school?" Michael asked.
"No. Actually I never even got to high school. I barely got out of elementary. I stopped going after fourth grade." Ashton said.
"Would you like to finish school?" Michael asked.
"Can't go to school if I don't know my age." Ashton said.
"No I meant we could get you a tutor that would come to the house to teach you." Michael said.
"You'd do that for me?" Ashton asked.
"I think it's pretty well established that we'd do anything for you." Luke said.
"I'd love to finish school if you could actually get me a tutor." Ashton said.
"Great, I know a guy, I'll call him up right now." Michael said getting up out of his seat.
He gave Ashton a kiss to the head, Calum, who was now sitting in his high chair making a mess, a kiss to the head, and Luke one to the lips before walking down the hall.
"I've been really curious, what kind of jobs do you and Mikey do for people?" Ashton asked looking at Luke.
"You have to promise not to tell anyone and you'll still trust us just the same." Luke said looking at at Ashton.
"I promise." Ashton said, the could tell him they were murders and he'd wouldn't look at them any differently.
"We kill people for a living but we only kill, rapist, other murders who killed innocent people, and kidnappers." Luke said.
"So, you only kill the bad people?" Ashton asked.
"Mhm. Only the bad ones." Luke said.
"Okay." Ashton said grabbing his sketch book.
He turned to a blank page and began drawing.
"Luke, if someone was to hurt me or Calum would you kill them?" Ashton asked after ten minutes of silence.
"In a second. Why?" Luke asked washing the dishes.
"I've been having nightmares, they've made no sense but I'm pretty sure I just put the pieces together." Ashton said and his voice sounded shaky.
Luke turned to Ashton who was just staring at his notebook.
"What is it?" Luke asked.
"Remember the day we went to the fair and we were almost hit by my uncle and I didn't want to go with him." Ashton said more than asked.
"Yeah." Luke said.
"At that time I didn't know why. But I do now." Ashton said.
"What happened?" Luke asked.
Ashton just pushed his notebook over to Luke. It was an unfinished drawing but it was clear what the picture was and it wasn't good.
"I'll be back." Luke said picking up the notebook.
Luke walked down the hall and opened the office door without knocking, quickly dropped the notebook onto Michael's desk. Michael instantly knew something was wrong.
"Hey, I'll call you back in a second." Michael said then hung up.
Michael looked at the drawing then up at Luke.
"Is this-"
"Mhm. Ashton knows what we do for a living now and he asked me if we'd kill someone that hurt him or Calum then he showed me this. His uncle needs to be taken care of, soon." Luke said.
"Go see if you can get his uncle's name, we'll get him gone as soon as possible." Michael said handing the sketchbook back.
"When is the tutor coming?" Luke asked walking to the door.
"He can either come over today and start the lessons, or tomorrow. I need to call him back. Ask, Ashton which he'd prefer." Michael said picking up the phone.
Luke nodded and walked out, going back to the kitchen.
"Do you remember your uncle's name? Also would you prefer the tutor to come over today or tomorrow?" Luke asked.
"Today. I don't remember his name, I'm sorry." Ashton said.
"Don't be sorry about that, we'll just find another way to get him dealt with. Mikey!" Luke called.
"Yeah?" Michael called back.
"He doesn't remember the name, also he wants the tutor to come today!" Luke said.
"Okay!" Michael said.
"What's wrong?" Luke asked Ashton.
"I don't remember so many things about myself and I don't understand why you three bother with me so much." Ashton said.
"Cause yous pwetty!" Calum squealed from his high chair.
Ashton smiled at Calum, then turned back to Luke when he grabbed his hands.
"Ashton, you're beautiful, and not even just on the outside, the inside as well. Through out the time we've known you we've come to absolutely adore you, and it usually takes Mikey and Calum to take a long time to trust people, especially when Calum is in little space. We love how you try so hard at different things, whether it be trying to remember something important or something as simple as tying your shoes. We love how you get amazed by the littlest things and how you always have to make it known that we don't have to buy you thing but we love spoiling you because it obviously makes you happy. We love-"
"You." Michael said cutting Luke off.
"What?" Ashton asked.
"We love you, Ashton." Luke said.
