Hi friends, Luvnhugs here! If you've made it this far, you've prooobably read the word "Bel" and wondered what it meant. Well, this much-needed background lore will finally clarify so many things about our main characters!
In the stories I share with you, the stars of the show always seem to be the Bels. You can't miss 'em–they're 100+ feet tall! They're an oft-gentle lot of incredibly humanlike people, with a bit of a history of their own!
You've read about a Bel Parinian if you know these characters! Benny, Tiffany, Andrea, Eddie, and so many more to come!

Fun facts about the Bels!
***********************************
· The average height of a birth-assigned male sex Bel Parinian is 120 feet, or, ~36.6 meters. Because the standard ratio between human and Bel objects, as officially accommodated by industrial designers, is x20.6, this is the equivalent of 5'10" in humans.
· The average height of a birth-assigned female sex Bel Parinian is ~110 feet, or, ~33.5 meters. This is the equivalent of 5'3" in humans. (I must really love you, because I just did math for you 😂)
· Contrasting from humans, Bels do not have a nomadic history. They have originated and evolved from/on Bel Parine Island.
· Bel Parine Island is located in where would otherwise be the North Atlantic Ocean, between the United States East coast and the West African coast.
· It is an incredibly large island with a great variety of climates. This is where we see most of the ethnic diversity emerge from; these ethnicities are not the same as humans', but some similarities between respective ethnicities can be seen. Though it's culturally referred to as "Island" more often, it should be kept in mind that it's also a continent of its own.
· The greatest amount of Bel Parine immigrants come from the neighboring continents of North America and Africa. The amount is increasing, but still is relatively low compared to other immigration rates, due to the practical difficulty of living amid the size difference.
· While controversial evidence has been documented in some cases (where individual human and Bel reproductive and genetic testing has suggested against this), technically speaking, Bels and humans are the same species (maybe—it's the current leading theory). (Dissenting contributors to this research have denoted the two as 'sister species').
>> Despite the staggering size difference, the internal functions of their bodies are incredibly similar (despite some variations in bone density, thickness of flesh, blood pressure, internal temperature, stronger lungs, etc...). However, culturally, the superficial differences have been so emphasized, that it is standard to differentiate Bels and humans from each other by name.
