[After five years...]Taehyung.
“Hey, Taehyung!” Jungkook exclaimed, playfully flicking my forehead. I winced and rubbed the sore spot.
“What's up?” I chuckled. Jungkook nonchalantly peeled a banana, his gaze fixed on me.
“You've been lost in thought since we entered the kitchen. What's on your mind?” he inquired, taking a bite of the banana.
I shrugged, tearing open a chocolate bar. “Just reminiscing about the time we first met,” I replied casually.
He furrowed his brow. “Anything specific? Is Bogum still bothering you?” he asked, curiosity etched across his face.
Casually biting into my chocolate bar, I shrugged again. “Not really. I was just wondering, what if Namjoon hadn't introduced us? Would you still have approached me? Would you still have invited me for ice cream?”
Jungkook shrugged in response. “Maybe? Maybe not? Who knows.” He stood up and extended his hand. “Quit overthinking it. You'll only end up dwelling on what Bogum did. Let's go; the hyungs are waiting for us.”
Nodding, I accepted his hand, feeling his arm wrap around my shoulder as he pulled me closer.
My heart quickened at the proximity – a familiar sensation whenever we got close. I wasn't oblivious to its significance.
Yes, my feelings for Jungkook run deeper. I'm in love with him, a secret he remains unaware of. Only Jimin and Yoongi-hyung know about my unspoken affections. They coaxed the truth from me when I started feeling uneasy around Jungkook. They noticed; after all, those two have the eyes of an owl. Tsk.
“Hey, you two! I've been looking everywhere for you!” Hoseok-hyung's boisterous voice filled the living room. I rolled my eyes, subtly disentangling myself from Jungkook's arm.
“We're in the kitchen, hyung,” I teased. He rolled his eyes, smiling.
“Let's go. Jin-hyung is going berserk,” he said.
We laughed and exited the house. We all shared the same roof. Ever since Jungkook and I became inseparable friends and bought a house together, our circle of friends grew. It all started when we invited them to live with us.
Jungkook caught up, slinging his arm back around my shoulder. I couldn't help but notice the pounding in my chest. We'd become comfortable with each other's touch until... you know.
Jimin sensed the unease and intervened, pulling me away from Jungkook. The latter seemed surprised, but Jimin just stuck his tongue out.
“Shortie! Why are you taking my best friend away from me?!” Jungkook protested. I chuckled as Jimin groaned at the nickname, unfazed.
Jimin leaned in, whispering, “Thank me later, hun.”
I nodded and joined him, heading towards Jin-hyung's van. We were off to Namjoon's parents' house to celebrate their wedding anniversary.
Once inside the van, Jimin occupied the seat next to me. Jungkook complained.
“Shortie! Give me my best friend back!” he pleaded, eliciting groans from everyone. Internally amused, I watched as Jimin pouted.
“I swear, Jungkook, one more time calling my wife shortie, and you'll find your end,” Yoongi-hyung warned. He settled next to Jimin, leaving Jungkook in the back.
Jimin cheered, giving his husband a peck. We cringed and teased them. Jungkook's sulky look didn't escape my notice. I couldn't help but laugh when he pouted even more.
Why is he so adorable?!
“Hyung, I'll sit next to Jungkook,” I declared, and both of them looked at me.
Jungkook cheered, punching the air, making me laugh even harder. Jimin glanced at me, as if hearing dreadful news. “You sure?” he whispered. I nodded, patting his shoulder.
“Yeah. Might as well deal with him once and for all,” I whispered back, standing up.
They all looked at me, and I simply smiled. Making my way to Jungkook, who beamed like a bunny, I took a seat beside him.
He leaned against me, wrapping his arms around my waist. My heart raced, his breath warm against my neck. Oh god, please help me.
I had no clue how to handle this bunny. He'd be the death of me; that much was certain. As he pulled me even closer, his lips brushed against my neck. I shivered, feeling the hair at the back of my neck stand on end.
Oh god, lord, please help me.
