The barriers on the tube line... (Chapter 3)

Virgil and Patton's plane landed and they were back at there old home. London! While the buildings looked nice the air was....bad. England is known for having really bad pollution and the air had a toxic tint to it. Virgil would have taken a deep breath to savor the moment if he didn't know this fact. Virgil and Patton's parents moved out of their old home a while ago, therefore, Virgil and Pat were able to rent it as a place to stay while they were here.

"What's our game plane, Pat?" Virgil asked. If there was one thing Virgil knew, it was that Patton goes everywhere extra prepared. He had maps, and list, a schedule that wasn't that strict, but was to be followed of they wanted to get anything done.

Clapping his hands together, Patton started to explain. " We should get to our old home first, unpack, then make our way to...where ever the Duke twins live!"

What does he mean "where ever"?

Was Patton not prepared for that part?

How!?

Huh!?

Virgil was starting to panic a little, for good reason.

"Pat, you're the most prepared person I have ever met...and you don't know where the Dukes live?!" Virgil asked.

"I'm prepared, not a stalker, Virge." Patton responded with a small chuckle.

Oh right.

That makes sense.

"So we should ask around?" Virgil suggested.

"That sounds like a good plan!"

They walked into what would be their home while they stayed here and got to unpacking.

After they were done they had made a plan of some of the places they could go to and ask around if anyone knew where the Dukes lived.

Yes, both Patton and Virgil thought that making a plan to find two people they had never met just so they could get them out of the country sounded a little bit creepy. But they had both set their mind to something and they were going to stick to it.

After awhile of asking around it was starting to get dark out. Most of the places they had asked around to were close so they could walk.

But for the next place they needed to go, they had to do something Virgil hates doing.

Take the Trains.

Virgil hates taking the trains.

Patton was blissfully unaware of this though, and had insisted they take the trains.

Challenge 2: Depression on a train track

Once they had entered the train a cold shiver ran down Virgil back.

And it wasn't just because of the painfully crisp air.

What Patton didn't know...

Was the things Virgil had seen while on the trains by himself.

Virgil had taken a spot, slid across the seat, and pressed himself against they window, Patton taking the spot next to him.

Virgil would have drawn what he saw if he didn't leave his sketch pad at the house.

A few more people entered the train, then with a small chime and a female sounding voice, the train departed.

Virgil watched as the thing he hated most blurred past him.

The barriers on the tune line.

Virgil hated them.

Hated them with a passion.

'They act like those work' Virgil thought to himself.

(A/N: Stop reading here and pick up at the star emoji if thoughts and mentions of suicide bother or trigger you in any way, and please know that I'm proud of you and you have people that can help and listen)

After several reports of people jumping off the tube line and onto tracks while there were incoming trains, they had put up barriers in a attempt to stop this.

But they never actually worked.

Nothing ever really worked.

Virgil had seen it happen.

Virgil almost did it himself.

If it wasn't for a kind stranger who promised to keep there mouth shut, Virgil wouldn't be here.

He remembers their face. They looked like such a nice person. They were a fair skinned person with dark brown eyes and a smile that could light up a room. They had on a shirt that had the likeness of a certain star bellied cartoon character.

Virgil remembers their words when he asked them not to say anything.

"It's not my story to tell" followed by that shining smile.

But Virgil never caught their name or pronouns.

Virgil hated the barriers because they didn't stop him.

Someone else did.

So from then on, Virgil made a promise; Don't let that kind persons work go to waste.

Virgil made  a promise to live.

⭐ (It's done! And there are gonna be hotlines at the end of this chapter)

Virgil was so wrapped up in hos thoughts that he didn't even hear the chime that let passengers know the train reached the stop, or that it was dark outside now, or that Patton had been calling his name for a solid 13 seconds.

Oh right.

Suddenly Virgil turned his head away from the window and looked at his brother, of which had a huge smile on his face and was slightly bouncing.

"What has you so hyped?" Virgil asked.

Patton pointed towards the doors of the train, Virgil followed his finger and saw no other than the Duke twins leaving the train.

Oh.

OH!

And with that both Virgil and Patton started toward the front and tried to reach them.

Virgil will claim to the very day he's dead, that this is the only time he has been happy to ride the trains.

(A/N: woo! You made it! As I said, I'm so proud of you. This was gonna be lest angsty but I was in a mood and was listening to Wiblur Soot. As promised here are some hotlines to call if you are ever in need of them, or just having A very Virgil day. Please remember that your life is worth living. Each episode is long but there is gonna be an amazing end credits. Trust me)
