short chapter
(i changed some of the lyrics to fit)

everyone passes eventually, it's apart of the human life cycle. however, for some people it's hard to believe that their loved one has left them. waking up everyday expecting to hear their voice, only to remember that they aren't here.

one of these people that won't let go of the death of a loved one, is alex.

every night, he would lay in regret and agony, tears spilling out of his eyes as he still tried to convince himself that you're never coming back. the space next to him was cold and lonely without your presence every night.

his stomach screamed at him to eat, but recently he just hasn't been hungry. the ping's of his phone notifications from his friends and family checking he was okay, got on his nerves. he wanted one of those messages to be you telling him that you're safe and coming back to him.

all he wanted was a chance to hug you and never let go; to tell you to never leave him again.

amongst all these thoughts, he couldn't help but think that maybe you were happier without him.

once again, he pulled the piece of paper from his draw and stared at it.

the last message you left him before you slid away.

to alex,

say you'll remember me. standing in a nice dress, staring at the sunset. red lips and rosy cheeks.

say you'll see me again even if it's just in you're wildest dreams

"i will, y/n," he choked out between sobs, he really needed you here with him, he needed you to end all his pain and misery.

slowly, he peeked outside his closed blinds-that had been for ages now- and looked at the sky.

sunset

he ran outside, ignoring the concerned looks from his neighbours, looking at the sky.

his words took awhile to leave his mouth, but eventually they did, very wobbly however,

"say... you'll remember me... standing in my nice hat, staring at the sunset babe, with your red lips and rosy cheeks. say you'll see my again...

even if it's just pretend"
