HEY BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE!! IT'S BEEN A WHILE. ARE YOU LIKING MY STORY? IF NOT, THEN IT'S OKAY. ANYWAY, HERE'S THE NEXT CHAPTER. :)
"Your father isn't waking up!! Hurry to the hospital you three!!" Nathalie said worrily over their group call. "We'll be there in a jiffy!!" Adrien replied as they all hung up the phone. Marinette and Chloe told the girls about the incident. "Does this mean the party's cancelled??" Rose asked sadly as she ate some cake. A lot of cake actually. "No, you guys go and have some fun. We'll be back in time. Right Marinette?" Chloe said as she reached out to ask to hold her hand and smiled at her. "Yeah we'll be back."Marinette held Chloe's hand and told the girls as they headed to their car to the hospital.
Adrien hugged the both of them as they arrived at the hospital. They rushed into the old Agreste's hospital room. The doctor was there with them. "What's happened to my father??" Adrien asked. "He's not gonna make it any longer Mr. Agreste. It's time he rested..." The doctor replied with a low tone and sadly. Adrien couldn't believe it. Marinette and Chloe both tried to comfort and calm him. He rushed to his father's bedside and held his hand. "Father..."he said. "Adrien, my son. You've been a sweet and kind son to me...even though I was always busy, you manage to put a smile on your face...I cherish both you and Miss Bourgeois happiness in your marriage." Adrien and Chloe looked at each other with a sincere smile.
"As for you Marinette, come here sweet child..." Gabriel stretched out his hand. Marinette slowly walked to his bedside next to Adrien. Tears filled her eyes as she grasped the old man's hand. "If something happens to my son, please take good care of him, cherish him, and love him at all costs. You were like the daughter I never had Marinette. And I love you as though I am your father. Tom was my bestest friend. You and his friendship means a lot to me. So I give you the dream you never had..."
"The dream I...never had?" Marinette dazed off a little as she grew confused. Nathalie showed her a picture of her office in the Agreste building. "This...this is too much, sir. I possibly can't accept this..." Marinette wiped off her tears as she smiled. "Just take it. It's yours and you really wanted it anyway. You always did. Since you were a child." Gabriel smiled. "You remembered...ok then...I'll accept the position. But what about Papa's bakery?" Marinette questioned him. "Don't worry sweetie. Alya and Nino have agreed to help me with it." Tom replied. "You'll be great Marinette." Chloe smiled and placed a hand on her shoulder. Seconds later, Gabriel's heartbeat started to collapse as he said his last words and whispered them to Marinette. "No matter what the circumstance my dear, I know, you'll always love my son..." Gabriel closed his eyes as he succumbed to his bed and the beeping continued. The room was filled with sorrow, sadness, and grief.
The next two days, a large funeral for Gabriel was held. It was also on the news and Nadja herself reported the whole ceremony. Friends and family from all over the world came to mourn and give condolences. Hours passed and Adrien was the only one left by his father's grave. The rain began to pour down. His black suit getting wet from the raindrops of the grey sky. The sound of walking was heard from behind him. But he didn't seem to mind it.
"Adrien..." It was Marinette. She held her black umbrella as she stood by him. "You'll get wet from the rain...So Chloe asked me to hand you an umbrella." She explained but there was no response from the blonde. "I'll just leave it here-"
"No, please...stay here..." Adrien finally spoke but silently. He still had a frown in him.
They stayed there for at least until it was 6 pm. It wasn't raining anymore and the sound of crickets by the grass was to be heard from the silence that night. They sat down on a bench as they slept for a while. Their heads placed on each other. Adrien asked; "When my father whispered something to you, what did he say?"
"Oh uhh...he told me that, no matter what happens, he knows that I'll always love you..." Marinette said quietly. "I know, and I love you too Marinette." Adrien said as he looked into her bluebell eyes. He leaned in to give her a kiss but she backed him away. "We shouldn't do this. Your wedding is coming and I don't want anything bad to happen just because of me..." Marinette said sadly. "Marinette. Chloe's okay with us remember?? There's nothing wrong with this."
"This is adultery Adrien. We're having an affair and your future wife being okay with it doesn't make it okay with me. I can't stand being in a threesome." Marinette started to cry once more. "This may seem like an affair but me and Chloe will get divorced anyways and we'll finally be together. Please Marinette. I really, really do love you. How about you, do you love me too?" Adrien placed his hands on her cheeks and smiled. "I do...I love you too...but-"
"No buts Princess..." Adrien kept her silent as she trapped her into the kiss. She eventually melted into the kiss as well.
"Sorry if I caused you too much pain. Do you feel better now?" Adrien asked. "Yes I'm fine. You don't need to tell me you're sorry. It's my fault for being like this. Hehe." Marinette giggled. "Anyway, my wedding's next week. Are you okay being our Maid of Honor?" Adrien asked her. "Of course!" she said as they both went home.
to be continued...
