Jayden never thought that she would become a killer. She had killed people in the past but even so that was different. She only killed the bad guys and even though HYDRA are technically bad guys she couldn't kill them. They were like family to her. She walked back to inside of the dam where she saw Katya standing at a mirror. Jayden couldn't see Katya's face properly but in the mirrors reflection she saw her smiling softly and looked as though she was thinking about something, getting her lost in her own mind. Jayden walked out, following the tracks of Hill, Sam and Steve. The leaves made no noise as she dashed towards them."I'll come." Steve was the first to turn round and she looked at her like she just accomplished something great.
"Then lets get going," Steve commanded. Jayden lit the fire in her hands and when they were standing outside the door, Steve and Jayden at the front with Hill and Sam at the back.
It took a while, having to dodge everyone, but they had reached the Triskelion. Jayden was trying to look for Rumlow or any of the STRIKE team but it didn't work the best. They would all be gearing up or starting project insight. They stood at the door that led to communication, Hill and Sam either side of Jayden and Steve. The door swung open revealing one of the many tech workers at S.H.E.I.L.D, his jaw dropping at their presence.
"Excuse us," Steve commanded the tech officer who was in the door. He surrendered, putting his hands up further than most would do. Jayden glared at the tech officer until they were standing at the mic, her and Sam just behind Steve with Hill to his left.
"Attention S.H.E.IL.D agents," he began speaking, getting peoples attention, "this is Steve Rogers. You've heard a lot about me over the last few days, some of you were even ordered to hunt me down." His voice echoing throughout the room.
"And I think it's time you know the truth," He continued, "S.H.E.I.L.D is not what we thought it was; it's been taken over by HYDRA. Alexander Pierce is their leader. The STRIKE and Insight crew are HYDRA as well. We don't know how many more but I know they're in the building. They could be standing right next to you." He stopped speaking for a second.
"They shot Nick Fury, and it won't end there. If you launch those helicarriers today HYDRA will be able to kill anyone that stands in their way unless we stop them." Jayden looked to the floor, letting Steve's words sink in before he continued. As he started talking Jayden nudged Sam and tilted her head to the door to excuse herself, needing to go to the control room.
In one of the corridors leading there she saw Rumlow and another STRIKE member. Jayden lurked in the shadows behind them until one of them cut off, leaving Rumlow to discuss with one of the agents. As he walked into the room everything went silent and all you could hear was his footsteps walking through the isles of computers.
"Preempt the launch sequence. Send those ships up now." Talking to one of the agents sitting at the computer. Jayden snuck through the crowd of people, hiding amongst them. The agent looked up at him and then back to the computer.
"Is there a problem?" Rumlow asked. The man stammered slightly.
"Is there a problem?" Rumlow repeated, much louder this time. Jayden grasped the fire in her hands and closed her eyes for a minute and re-opened them, glaring at Rumlow.
"I'm sorry sir." The man started saying, taking a heavy breath he continued, "I'm not going to launch those ships, Captains orders." Rumlow stepped behind him and held the gun to his head.
"Move away from your station."
"Like he said." Jayden looked around at the woman who was now holding a gun to Rumlow, Agent 13." Various other people held guns to different people.
"This is not going to end well," Jayden muttered, not yet emerging from the crowd but still moving towards Rumlow.
"You picked the wrong side, Agent," Rumlow threatened and after a moment he dropped the gun, it clattering loudly on the floor. He grabbed a knife from his jeans and thrusted it into the woman's stomach. The room filled with gun shots and Jayden ran across the desk once she saw Rumlow entering the code for the helicarriers to be launched. Once he saw the woman get back up he shot at her, she managed the dodge the bullets and shot after him as he tried running out.
It wasn't that simple though. A barrier of fog appeared, making Rumlow stagger back and whispers around the room. Jayden and appeared, walking through the new fog in the room which she had created.
"I'm sorry, I can't let you leave right now. Maybe in a few hours when you have to go to the hospital."
"Jayden. What are you doing?" He asked, wishing she could have stayed on the STRIKE team.
"Just testing out my new power. It's cool right? Weather manipulation. Of course you would know that, wouldn't you?" She smirked, the Insight team who were in the room before Rumlow even arrived held guns at her.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you." She kicked the gun from the person closest too her who happened to fall into someone else. She relit her fire again and chucked it towards the people at the side.
"Now for you." She looked towards Rumlow. She held her arms in a cross, blocking his arm from going any further and when she had thrown him onto the ground she placed her foot on his stomach. He thrusted her off, her hand cutting on glass which was strewn on the floor.
"You never learn." He dashed from the room, the woman shooting at him as he ran.
"Sharon Carter." She helped Jayden up who quickly dashed from the room, trying to chase after Rumlow but it wouldn't work. There were too many corridors in this place. She heard the machines whirring, the helicarriers rose from them and she pulled back her hair. She used the wrong hand and used the one which had been cut open using the sharp glass and smeared blood over the right side of her face.
She dashed out onto the deck and found Sam and Steve. She followed up with Sam, he mainly stayed in the air while Jayden once arriving at the deck stayed on ground. HYDRA agents, most likely STRIKE, had started shooting at her she hid behind a stack of cargo boxes. She lit the fire and moulded a fire ball, tossing it at the agents. One came up in front of her when she wasn't looking at instead of using her powers she kicked him over using his feet and grabbed a gun shooting at him as she flipped over, knocking another agent out. When more came on the deck she picked one of he guys up as she ran towards them then chucked him into them.
"Sam? Where are you?" She asked him, not being able to see him.
"I had to take a detour," he explained. Jayden had done her part. Trying to kill the bad guys. She dashed up the stairs and into one of the rooms which was on the way to the council and one of the STRIKE crew came in. She hid behind one of the tables in case they hadn't seen her but seeing as one pushed the table towards her she guessed they had. She got shot back into the wall and when she didn't make any movement or noise they left the room, leaving her there.
She heard Sam come in and she tried waving him over when she saw Rumlow through the small glass pane in the door. After a fight she saw a helicarrier crashing through the wall and screamed for Sam to run. She pulled herself up and grabbed Sam as she made small whirlwinds under her hands, levitating her.
"You'll die. You'll be killed one day," Rumlow spoke his last words.
"How could I be killed when I'm the killer?"
A/N: I don't know if I like this chapter or not. It definitely wasn't my favourite chapter and I wanted to put that last bit with Rumlow and Sam in the next chapter but because of the next chapter I couldn't do it (RIP)
