Fallon was standing in the corner, watching as Caspian helped Susan and Lucy onto Destrier.
The brunette couldn't deny she was a bit worried for the girls. The woods were never the safest part of Narnia, and who knew how many Telmarine soldiers would be hiding within the trees. The again, she trusted the two.

She had thought about going with them, but Caspian had reminded her how much she was needed during the duel. The Hunter and the Prince had already figured that the Telmarines weren't going to simply turn and leave if Peter won the duel.

Fallon's attention moved to the horn Caspian now had in his hand as he reached up to hand it to Susan.

"Maybe it is time you had this back."

Susan's eyes softened for a moment as she looked at the prince. The Pevensie girl looked up, making eye contact with her friend for just a second before looking back at the Telmarine.

"Why don't you hold on to it," she said. "You might need to call me again."

Fallon didn't have to imagine Caspian's face. The Prince turned around as the Pevensie girls rode out into the hallway, his eyes wide and his mouth moved into a distant looking smile.

Fallon smacked him in the arm when he reached her. "Come on, big boy. You can give her heart eyes all you want later."

Caspian looked at the girl, slightly blushing. "I didn't give her–"

"Just walk, Caspian."

The cheers of the Narnians echoed all the way within the How. The rumble of the roars coming from just outside the entrance were enough to make even Felix nervous as he approached the Huntress.

"How are we feeling?" He asked, gaining the girl's attention.

Fallon sighed before answering, her eyes not leaving the King, who was talking to his brother.

"Like I'm about to fight Miraz myself."

Felix placed a gentle hand on her shoulder, knowing any sudden movement would make his friend flinch. She had the tendency of being quite paranoid before a battle. Even one she didn't have to fight.

"He's going to be fine, Fall," the blond said quietly. "He's a great swordsman— besides, he'll have you."

Fallon finally turned her attention away from Peter. "What do you mean?" She asked.

Felix smiled lightly at her. "You give him a lot more strength than you think, Fall. It's incredible you haven't noticed that yet."

Fallon still looked at him with confusion.

Felix just sighed, shaking his head. "Go to him," he said as he watched Edmund walk away from Peter.

Fallon shook her head. "I don't want to distract him."

The blond grunted, giving the Huntress a shove towards the boy. "How about you go ahead and encourage him?"

When Felix noticed Fallon's look, he sighed. "Fall, I know you're scared. But he's going to be all right. He needs you right now. And I know you need him. So, please, for the love of Aslan, go tell your boyfriend he's going to be fine like you've been wanting to for the past three hours."

One last look from the blond —along with yet another shove— and Fallon was walking towards Peter, who was drumming his fingers against the hilt of his sword, pacing back and forth in front of the wall of the How.

Noticing the way his fingers moved, Fallon reached for his hand before Peter even had a chance to notice she was there.

"Hey," she started, her fingers interlocking with the King's as he looked at her. She looked right back. "It's going to be ok."

Peter's blue eyes held hers, and the Huntress could tell that behind that strong, heroic façade laid the fear that she herself was feeling.

When Peter finally spoke, a small, nervous smile broke onto his face. "So, Gray, on a scale from one to ten, how bad do you want to kill me right now?"

Fallon gave him a small smile back. "According to how stupid this idea is? I'm probably somewhere around the high twenties."

But the chuckle that came from the boy was as forced as the smile Fallon gave him.

The girl reached forward, her free hand going to rest on Peter's cheek. The blond leaned into her touch as though it were the same air he was breathing, his eyes not leaving hers.

"You're going to be fine," Fallon said again. "You're going to win this duel, and Miraz and the Telmarines will have to turn back. And if they don't, we won't go down without a fight."

"But what if I don't win?"

"You will," Fallon replied, almost too fast. "And if it even looks like you're going to lose, I'm going to pull you out of there and fight Miraz myself."

It was Peter's turn to place his hand on the girl's cheek as he smiled at her tone.

"You know you can't do that, Fall," he said. "Besides, the rules say that the fight is to the death."

Fallon just looked at him. "And since when do I respect the rules?"

Peter's eyes shifted for just a second before he leaned forward. His arms went straight to the girl's waist, pulling her as close as he could.

Fallon's arms were already around his neck as he kissed her.

The boy kissed her with all he had. Without warning, without even deciding to do it. He kissed her merely because he had to. He had to feel her lips, her arms around him, her scent, her presence —her just had to feel her. And as she kissed him back, he shut out the roars from outside the How, the sounds of weapons clanging, of his own heartbeat as it raced faster and faster in his chest. He just felt her. And that was enough.

When the two finally broke apart, Peter's eyes didn't move from the glowing amber of Fallon's.

"Fall," he started, "do you know what it feels like to be around you?"

Fallon looked at him for a moment. "Is this really the right time to—"

"Yes." Peter cut her off. "Because, let's be honest, neither of us have any idea of what's going to happen out there."

Fallon interrupted him then. "Don't you dare—"

"Please, Fall, just— just listen to me."

Going against every nerve in her body telling her to stop him, Fallon's mouth closed.

"Being around you, it's like— it's like I can't breathe. Not in a bad way, just— I can't take a breath until you're close to me, until I can touch you. And I never meant to leave you. During the time I was away, every breath I took every step, I thought about you. About a way to come back. Hell, Susan can tell you how frustrated I was. But I was heartbroken. I had no way of reaching you, contacting you. Fallon, you have seen every side of me, even the one I didn't know existed. And if anything happens to me out there, anything at all— you need to remember that I love you. I've always loved you, even when you didn't think I did, or when you had given up on the idea of me loving you. I loved you. I love you, and I'll always love you, Fallon Hunter." He reached up for the ring that hung around the girls neck then. "Let this be a reminder that what I feel for you goes beyond anything you might imagine."

Fallon just stared at him, glass covering her eyes as tears slowly started forming, brimming on her eyelashes. But before she could say anything, Edmund walked into the How, calling Peter's name.

"We have no go. Now."
