Kylie's POV

Crap. Crap. Crap. Crap. Crap.

I cringed at my mom's voice.

"Mom, tone it down a little bit! Seriously. You're indirectly trying to deaf my with that kind of volume."

Arriane gave me a confused look and mouthed 'What?'. I held up one finger signaling for her to wait.

"I just got ummm, uhh... Pads. You know, it's the time of the month. Yeah. Oh I had some at home. Uuuh, I ran out? Yeah. Whaaaat?! But that's unfair! No. Fine. I'll stop. Eggs and milk? Got it. Ok. Yeah. Uh-huh. Yup. Okay. Bye."

Arriane gave me an exasperated look. I helplessly looked back.

"Let me guess. Your mom called not knowing you're with us and you need to get back home and you have to get some groceries."

"Yeah. You missed one thing. I'm grounded also."

Arriane and I slumped back in our seats and gave out a sigh.

"Could you be my ride?" I asked Kyla.

"Ari's my ride."

I looked at Arriane. She got up, held out her hand and said, "Let"s go. You don't want your mom to get any more pissed than she already is."

I smiled at her. "Thanks. Could we drop by a convenience store?" I asked nervously while scratching the back of my head.

Ari put her arm around me. "You owe me, kay?"

"Fine." I said.

"I'm kidding! Let's go!" She said while heading towards the exit.

"So we're not getting any Chicken?" Kyla asked disappointedly.

Arriane turned around and looked at Kyla. "Eh. You don't need that much protein." She said while looking her up and down.

"Was that an insult?"

"Let's just go, can we? Before Kylie gets anymore grounded."

We walked out and got to Arriane's car.

"Mom! I'm home! I got some eggs and milk too!" I yelled as soon as I walked into my house.

No reply.

"Mom! I'm here!!"

Still no reply.

Okay. She's not here. Don't panic, Kylie. she's just somewhere here.

I hurriedly ran upstairs to check her in her room. I got there, nothing. The room was untouched even. Okaaaay. She has to be in the kitchen, right? I quickly walked down the stairs. Tripped even.

"Mooooom?" I entered the kitchen. Nothing. Okay. Calm down. I'll just call her. Maybe she went out because we ran out of something.

I got to my phone and called her. It was ringing. Once. Twice. Thrice. Four times. Five. Six. "The number you have dialed is unavaible..."

Crap. What now? What if there's an intruder who wants to kill me? Maybe I should lock all the doors and windows. Yeah, I'll do that. Then I'll take a shower. Maybe by then she's back.

I went around the house and started locking the doors and windows, making sure that every possible lock is locked and every possible doorknob leading outside is locked as well.

Now I feel safe. Kind of. I guess I should go shower now.

I got my towel and untied my hair. "I guess I could remove my clothes now, there's no one in the house to see me. I could do anything I want!" I thought.

I stripped down my clothes in my room and walked out naked holding me towel. I opened the door to my bathroom and soon as I walked in, a high pitched, screeching sound entered my ears.

"WAAAAAAAH! Why on earth are you naked Kylie?! Have you been walking around like that?! Don't you know how to knock?? Oh my gosh. Kylie Nicole Anderson, I did not raise you like this!"

I walked in my mom top down naked, sitting on the toilet, with my iPad?

I scrambled for my towel. When I gained composure I said "Mom, what are you doing with my iPad?"

"Oh, this thing? I stumbled across it while I was cleaning your room. I started playing Angry Birds. Isn't it amusing how angry the birds are at the pigs?"

"Mom, what time did you enter the bathroom?"

"I don't know. A few minutes after I called you? Anyways, I have to get cooking."

"Mom! You were on my iPad for an two hours and a half?! Playing Angry Birds?? I was here at home panicking! I was calling out for you and you weren't answering and you were here in the bathroom playing angry birds?!"

"Well, why didn't you yell louder?" She said simply as she pulled her pants up.

I gave her the "What??" face. She frowned at me and said , "I'll be down stairs cooking our dinner if you need me."
