To ensure the safety of all Valence Ship Production customers, please read the following chapter thoroughly. Through improper maintenance, it is possible for a ship to become dangerous and difficult to control. To prevent accidents, all Valence ships are designed to give multiple warnings at the first sign of a system failure. The first is an automated warning displayed on all monitors of the system in question upon detection of poor maintenance. Afterward, the computer will periodically send a reminder to the captain's monitor until maintenance is scheduled. In the event that the monitors fail to send a warning, the ship is programmed to automatically switch to the backup of the failed system. When running on a backup system, land as soon as possible at the nearest Valence Ship Production maintenance dock. Other signs of imminent failure are sluggishness of controls, delayed computer response, stuttering, and fluctuations in environmental controls. If you do not comply with the system failure procedure, it could lead to irreparable damage to the ship, or a complete ship malfunction. This is easily identifiable by the ship veins becoming red rather than their usual blue color. At the first sign of a ship "going red", evacuate all passengers and personnel immediately. "Red Ships" do not comply with commands and can not be recovered. In the scenario that you come across an abnormal ship or one that has "gone red", report it to the appropriate authorities immediately.
