A/N: Oh my gosh everyone! I'm so sorry! It's been forever since my last update! I've been in summer classes and I just couldn't ever find time to work on this story. Here is a short chapter for you as an apology. I wasn't planning on putting it up just yet because I've been trying to make the chapters longer, so sorry if there's any glaring mistakes. I'll come back and add more to it later. Just let me know if you find anything that needs fixing. Thanks so much for reading guys!

The insane ship rushed us again and again while the pilots struggled to keep us out of its way. The others were trying to send out a distress signal like Captain had ordered, but they were doing it in the most round about way. Distantly, I thought that I could keep us much safer if they gave me control of my vessel again, but with the manual control engaged, there was little I could do on that front. However, I could get their signal out faster.
"Captain! I've lost control of the communications board!"
"What?!"
Within seconds I was able to send out the signal that had been taking them several minutes. The communications officer and Captain gaped at my monitor as I displayed the information on the distress signal I was now practically screaming to the universe.
"Double check those readings! Make sure this isn't a malfunction!"
Inwardly I sighed. That was something I had learned from Keenon; sighing. It came rather naturally to me in this case, while I awaited a response to my call, still worried about the pilots' clumsy maneuvers.
"Sir! The readings... They are correct sir!" They looked so shocked. Like it was impossible for the readings of my signal to be correct. I didn't much like Captain but I figured he needed some kind of explanation, so I took hold of the speakers in the cabin.
"You are welcome." The entire crew jumped then sat very still. Even the pilots... That wasn't good. "Hey! Look out! I do not want to get rammed by that thing!" They turned their attention back just in time to move us out of the rampaging ship's way. I sighed again, this time letting them hear it over the speakers. Everyone's eyes started scanning the area again. "If you are not going to keep your attention out there, on that insane ship, can I have the controls back?" No one answered me, although the pilots did turn their attention back to the outside.
A few minutes of awkward silence later, a new ship entered the range of my sensors. It was heavily fortified with weapons attached anywhere they could fit. Without hesitation, it launched a missile in the direction of the crazed ship. And with a flash of light, it was all over. The military ship hailed us and soon Captain was telling them all about the encounter, while I quietly went about shutting off the distress signal and setting the inside of my vessel to rights.
*Captain*
The ship was acting without control. Various crewmen were subtly pointing to their displays, pointing out anomalies. A servo that had been activated with no one near, data accessed from within the computer itself, and a rather insistent program trying to shift controls back to the autopilot. He growled lowly, someone was taking control of his ship right under his nose and he did not like it! He turned to the military personnel that had come aboard to interrogate the crew about the encounter.
"With your permission, I would like to evacuate the passengers. We have been experiencing some malfunctions for the past 5 to 6 hours and I'd like to get to Valence Repair as soon as possible."
