You left Christopher's Manor early and rode back to the Middleton's. It felt strange even though it was only three days you had stayed with Christopher.

When you got back you had a short meeting with the Middleton's, checked the horses and got some new clothes ready. You decided to take your father's chronicles as well if Christopher wanted to read it at any point.

You rode back to Christopher's manor feeling more refreshed and better now you were growing closer to Christopher. You really liked him, more than just friendship but love. You did not know if he reciprocated these feelings and you were too scared to find out, worried that you might be sacked from your job and lose Christopher's friendship. You wished you could read his mind, to see what he truly thought but that like many things in this world was impossible. But, you thought, you have a friendship with Christopher you would have thought was impossible when you first met him. You sighed, unsure what to do or how to act, you decided it would be best to let Christopher act first and then agree to his feelings if he ever expressed them.

Getting to the manor you entered and went up to the guest room, placing some clothes down on the bed. Something else lay on the bed however, it was some very nice and very expensive looking clothes. You looked in shock and went to find Christopher, going to give it back to him, this must have been an error on the servants part, it wouldn't be their fault but you would want to make sure that Christopher got it back. You found him in the sitting room, his face brightened when you walked in and sat in front of him.

"Tea?" he asked.

"Oh yes please" you said. "Um Christopher, I found this on my bed, I wondered if it was placed there by mistake"

"No mistake at all" Christopher hummed, placing the tea in front of you.

"What do you mean?" you asked.

"It is a gift" he said plainly.

"Really?" you asked, flabbergasted.

"Of course" he said. "If you are set on not wanting to be paid I am allowed to buy you at least some small things, aren't I?"

"You shouldn't have" you said.

"For everything you have been doing I thought it was appropriate" he said. "If you do not like it, I can replace it"

"No, it's beautiful" you smiled, holding it tight. "Thank you Christopher"

"You are welcome dear (y/n)" he said, his eyes twinkling slightly.

"I had better go check on Obsidian" yous said, drinking most of the tea and putting it down, still holding the clothes.

"Go ahead" Christopher said.

You smiled and left the room, pacing the clothes on the bed and getting changed into them. You heard a knock on the door and you called for the person to come in. Christopher peeped his head around the door but with his hand over his eyes. "Tell me if you are decent" he said.

"I am" you said, smiling. Christopher put down his hand and grinned, seeing how beautiful you looked in the clothes he had bought you.

"You look wonderful in that" he said, advancing toward you and looking at you through the mirror.

"Do you think so?" you asked.

"I know so" he answered.

You went red and smirked slightly as Christopher took a step back to admire the clothes and how it fit.

"Oh Christopher?" you asked, turning.

"Yes?" he asked.

"I have my father's chronicles" you said, going over to the bed and picking it up.
