I adjusted Mackenzie's bow and looked at her through the mirror.

"We good to go now?" I asked she tilted her head and shrugged.

"Okay, Let's go," I say she frowns and walks slowly behind me. I pick her up and carry her down the stairs. My dad grabs her from my arms.

"How about we go for ice cream after this Angel?" He asks her she smiles and nods.

"I can take her with me," He says I nod and walk to my rental car. When we get to the place the inside is decorated with gold and white streamers and banners. Rachel had on a 'bride to be' sash with a tiara. I sat down at a table and Kenzie sits on my lap. There weren't many people here yet. My phone rang. I grabbed it and answered.

"Hey Jordan," I say.

"Hiiii Jordan!" Kenzie says setting her tablet on the table and quickly grabbing my phone from my hand I laughed at her actions and let her go. She ran to sit with my mom on the other side of the circle table. Vinnie stared at me, When he heard Jordan's name, I avoided eye contact with him. The breeze felt nice I looked at the flowers that were next to us. Once they got off the phone more people had come. Kenzie was playing on her tablet again and on my lap. Although Jordan and I weren't dating, he was always with Kenzie when we were in LA. When it all first started he was a distraction from Vinnie, Kenzie grew attached to him. The clinking of glass caught my attention snapping me out of my thoughts. I look up and saw Rachel standing up holding a glass and a spoon. She set the spoon down and everyone looked at her.

"Okay everyone, I want to start off,"

"As you all must know, I'm the bride to be, Rachel, I just want to say how amazing these last what I think 4 or 5 years, Have been with Vincent, He is such an amazing, sweet, and sexy guy," She says earning small laughs from the crowd.

"But I have grown to love his child and love him, and his family," She says.

"I'm also excited to spend the rest of my life with him, I love you Vincent Hacker, and thank you all for coming also," She says my heart sinks in my chest, I clap and put a fake smile on my face.

"I am the father of the bride, Jonah," He says.

"I have a nice place for Vincent, I never thought she'd fall for someone like him, I still will never think you are perfect or good enough for my daughter but I guess I'll have to get used to you, for Rachel's sake at least," He huffs then sits back down.

"I am so happy for my baby, I love Vincent, oh so much, I'm Rachel's mother Adeline,"

"We love you so much," She says then sits.

"I am the mother of the groom, I would've never thought it would be someone else, I am so happy for them though," She says looking directly at me.

"Roxanne, I think you should say something, you're the maid of honor," She says making a motion for me to stand. I stand. I was the maid of honor and I had no idea why, Rachel hated me.

"Um, Well, Hi everyone, I'm the maid of honor, Vinnie's best friend, It's crazy to see Vinnie married, I woud've never expected anyone else to be honest, We were in love since the 6th grade 11 years old I think, Just to think that was only 12 years ago is crazy, I thought I would be the one to get the ring, He promised when we were younger he would marry me, I remember the time, I ugh just gave the ring back like 3 days ago, But we were on the pier in South Carolina, He came up to me and grabbed my hand and said I love you so much, I promise one day we will get married," I bit my lip to hold back the pain I was feeling just thinking of the memory.

"it hurts, to see I won't lie, I thought It would be me," I remember this wasn't about me.

"But anyway congrats to Rachel and Vinnie, I hope everything goes well," I say everyone claps I felt like I was going to break down any moment, I looked at Maria.

"I'm uh going to go back now, Can you take Kenzie, Or do you need me to take her?"

"Oh no honey, I totally understand, Go ahead I'll take her," She says I smile and go. I hand my ticket to the valet and they go and find my car. I drive to the tree which was only like 3 minutes from my mom's house, and five minutes from Maria's house. I look at the 'V&R' carved in the tree with a big heart. I sit there and place my head on my arms. I cried. I did love him, I always have, I just felt I wasn't ready to see him move on, But this wasn't about me, He was happy and who was I to mess with his happiness.

"Hey," I looked up and saw Vinnie standing in front of me.

"Vinnie?" I said. I rubbed my eyes and sniffled and looked at him.

"What are you doing here? Why aren't you at your party?" I ask.

"You're more important than some dumb ass party," He says

"Vinnie, You are getting married, This is important," I say he sighs and sits down next to me. He opens his arms.

"Will you just shut up and let me comfort you for once?" He says I chuckle and go into his arms. I felt at home in that moment, Like everything was perfect. But you know what they say everything perfect can't stay. I let myself and my body enjoy this moment while it lasted because in just a few weeks he would be married to someone who wasn't me.

"Let's go," He says I nod and take his hand, He takes the keys from me and drives somewhere. I'm guessing he took an uber or something because I didn't see his car. He drove to my mom's house. I walked inside and went straight to my room. He followed me. I laid in my bed and he laid with me. My chest was against his, I looked into his eyes. I missed this the most just being able to lay in bed with him and look at him. He looks at me and smiles.

"What are you thinking about?" He asks I look at him.
"What do you mean?" I ask
"You always make that face when you're thinking," I say.
"Are you happy?" He looks at me with a raised eyebrow.
"Like in your relationship, are you happy? Like truly happy," I say. He bites his lip. I look at him patiently waiting for his response.
"If you want me to be completely honest with you, Yes, and No," he says.
"Why not?"
"She isn't you," he says my heart was pounding in my chest.
"What?"
"She isn't you Rod, No one can ever replace nor top you," he says.
"Are you only saying this because I'm right here?" I ask he shakes his head no. I stare at his lips as he talks. My stomach fluttered. I wanted to kiss him so bad. The angel on my shoulder telling me 'no, don't do it he's with someone else' the devil on my shoulder telling me 'Do it! He's happier with you, you're happier with him, kiss him' I bite my lip and lay back. I hear the front door open. I look at my alarm clock damn I left the party 2 hours ago. I see my door fling open and Kenzie standing there. Her eyes go wide and a huge smile appears on her face.
"You love each other again?" She asks quickly climbing into the bed. I look at him and bite my cheek.
"No, I mean yes, we will always love each other honey, just daddy loves Rachel," I say. She looks confused.
"But you were just hugging!" She says.
"No honey mommy was sad and dad was hugging me," I say she frowns.
"I should probably go," and with that he left.

I can't really adjust this I'm writing this on my phone and not my laptop, My sister was with her friends and she decided to smoke weed because they peer pressured her and it was laced so she is sick and wouldn't stop throwing up and coughing and crying but like at 2 AM she started puking blood so that's why she's in the emergency room but literally she was in Virginia. Virginia is like a 5 hour drive from where I live so we are in Virginia right now and I don't have my laptop.
