"Live as if you are living a second time and as though you had acted wrongly the first time." -Viktor E. Frankl.
Beautiful, brown eyes unblinkingly stared at Kassandrah; they held a hint of awe and of some kind of approval, if not fascination. His eyes gave off the essence of being a dark and hazy chocolate colour. Kassandrah stared back into the soulful depths of the swirling chocolate-coloured eyes and felt herself being swept even quicker into its foreign coded bottom. Like a quicksand, she had absolutely no control over her reaction and she felt herself falling even deeper with every blink that she made.
Easing her eyes shut, she tightly screwed them shut and tried to bring back some sort of equilibrium to her physique and to her mentality. She took a few proficient deep breathes and mentally counted up to ten, she knew that this infinitesimal exercise most of the time, if not always, soothed and calmed her raging thoughts, in fact her brain was currently not even working. She knew that this very application of metaphysics took a minimum of seventy minutes. This was good enough to place her in an able state. Sending up a silent inward prayer to the big guy above, she prayed that upon opening her eyes, the greek god that had been standing before her would have evaporated with the water vapour. Hopefully, she would be all alone in paradise. Inhaling for the very last time she cracked an eyelid open and did not spot anyone in the room. Opening her second eyelid, she took in the setting around her and a triumphant feeling overwhelmed her senses, leaving her with nothing but a pleased realisation that she was alone. Smiling, she grabbed the cup of coffee that occupied a small space on the kitchen island before her. Grasping the cup with both her hands, she inhaled the deep scent of rich ground beans. Oh goodness, how she loved coffee! She took a small sip. Slowly and very delicately, the liquid swished and twirled in her mouth, bringing life to all her sweet spots. She sighed blissfully as all the liquid fired up her body all the way to her toes. Kassandrah smiled as she gazed at her toes, unintentionally flexing them in the process. She took a couple of sips and savoured the taste as the deep coffee flavour cleared her hangover headache.
'Is coffee not one of the best blessings that exist in the world biosphere?' her brain asked her.
Sighing in agreement, her eyes firmly focused on her surroundings and a frown marred her perfectly complexioned forehead. Kassandrah had no recollections, whatsoever, of this place quite honestly, she had never ever set foot within such prestigious confinements. Her salary would not cover this whole place and if she borrowed from her savings account, then surely she would be setting herself up for financial suicide. Wrinkling a brow, she wondered as to how she had arrived at this place. As much as alcohol was concerned, she really had to keep her distance. Alcohol really did mar intelligence...
'Where the hell is Nicquotte? Wasn't last night all about Nicquotte's kitchen hen party?' these thoughts popped up in her brain and she abruptly turned around. An intense need bubbled up in her persona, a fierce need to find her sister, Nicquotte, took over and made it to the number one spot of her thoughts and priorities.
Opening the now familiar bedroom door, Kassandrah marched in the room and immediately searched for any sign of her dress or her stilettos. She just had to find her belongings. In fact, she still wandered as to what had occurred the previous night. Thoughts flashed through her brain whereby they had been having fun. It had been an average group of girls; they had been about ten or so. She recalled the time when Nicquotte had been continuously drinking. Images of two male strippers popped into her brain. Her oesophagus immediately contracted, closed off and bile rose up as it aimed for her mouth. Attempting to draw in amounts of fresh breathe, she raced towards the supposed bathroom and blindly found the toilet.
