Walking around the statue of Barbatos was one of your favorite pastimes. The breeze was always refreshing, the sweet smell of flowers only adding to the experience. Though you've gone in circles, humming to yourself and quietly observing the townsfolk, there was always one thing you wished to do -- climb up the statue itself. The view up on its hands would be stunning, especially at night. So, one day, you decided to devise a plan. Near sunset, when the guards were taking their break, you snuck up behind the statue. Climbing up with great effort, gripping what you could from the spots of protruding stone edges, you grinned. Everything was coming together as planned. After a bit of grunting, almost slipping and mentally cussing, you reached the top. It was as you imagined. The lights of the city were stunning, and the landscape just outside the city walls was spectacular. "That was so worth it."

"Pretty, huh?" a sudden voice hummed. You yelped, whipping your head around, but losing balance in the process. You could barely make out the mysterious person who appeared behind you. Green clothes, braids that faded into a shade of aqua, a glowing anemo vision on his hip, and what looked to be a lyre in his hand. You began to fall backwards, the harsh texture of the statue's stone hand meeting your head. You cuss out loud, taking the person aback. "Oh no. I'm so, so sorry," He gasped, rushing to your side and placing his hand under your head. You laughed nervously, sitting up slightly. "Better than falling to your death." He pouted. You shook your head quickly. "It's fine! You didn't mean it." You reassured him. Huffing slightly, he shifted his position to take a seat beside you. You shared a comfortable moment of silence. It was peaceful, but starting to get a bit awkward. "So, you're a bard?" You asked, not daring to look away from the beautiful scenery before you. The boy glanced at you and smiled. "I sure am. Would you like me to sing you a song?"

"Of course." You grinned, turning to face him. He laughed, positioning his lyre and beginning to strum softly. The tune was angelic. After a minute, the notes were starting to get predictable, so much so that you couldn't help but hum along. His eyes widened slightly, but he continued to play nonetheless. "Your voice is heavenly." He breathed, putting down his lyre. "Oh, you're too kind," You giggled. "I haven't heard you sing yet. I bet you sound better." You said. Fumbling around with his lyre, he turned away in embarrassment. "Now you're just trying to fluster me."

Another brief moment of silence. It was longer and somehow more comforting than the last. Enjoying each other's company, the gentle glow of the moonlight reflecting onto the bodies of water in the distance, it was a dream come true. Something inside you hoped to meet this mysterious boy again and gaze out onto the scenery of Mondstat, atop the statue of the Anemo Archon, humming soft tunes and enjoying the peace. "I'm Venti, by the way."

"What's your name?" He asked. "(Y/N). I really am glad I decided to sneak up here." You sighed in content, watching the slightly bustling townsfolk retreat from their jobs and others from the tavern. He slowly nodded. "This statue really is a blessing." He mumbled, looking behind him and at the statue's face. You hummed in reply. "Right? Not to mention how beautifully it was made. A beautiful statue for a beautiful archon, I guess." You said, before being cut off by a squeak. Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "Is something wrong?" You asked, concerned about Venti's sudden outburst. "Nothing, the wind is just really cold today!" He shivered, rapidly rubbing his arms to gain warmth. "Ohh, okay," You paused, turning to the scenery once more. "It's late. We should get home."

"Oh, you're right! I can walk with  you going there, if you'd like." Venti offered, taking your hand. Before you ask what he was doing, he swiftly but carefully descended from the statue, hand intertwined with yours. "I hope it's not too far."

"It's just around the corner." You replied, tugging slightly on his hand to lead the way. The walk was silent. As you reached the doorstep, he caught you by your arm. "Wait, (Y/N)," He suddenly spoke, surprising you slightly. "Let's do this again tomorrow. I want to hear your singing more." He confessed, batting his eyelashes with a slightly poor attempt of using puppy eyes. With a smile, you gave him a hug. A warm feeling rose in your chest as he nervously returned the embrace. "Of course! I'll look forward to it!" You exclaimed happily, before rushing into your house and slamming the door. The both of you sighed loudly, glad that the unexpected tension was gone. Questioning your feelings, you lied down on your bed.

"I hope I'm not actually catching feelings,"
