"Good morningg!" Paimon cheered. You groaned in response with a lazy attempt of swatting them away. They huffed, tugging your blanket off and drawing back the curtains. "Today marks the day we started travelling Teyvat a year ago!" They giggled as you smiled at their cheeful aura. Giving in to Paimon's screeching for you to wake up, you carefully fixed your clothes in front of a medium mirror and grabbed your sword. The rays of the sun poured in from the half-drawn drapes - a sign of a sunny day. The weather was perfect for going out.

You discussed your destinations with your floating companion, listing down the people to meet and the things to purchase on your way. Paimon repeatedly suggested buying sticky honey roast and holding a little feast, but you laughed and dismissed their suggestion. It was a carefree walk from your little cottage (made with the help of Albedo and Diluc) to the gates of Mondstadt. The breeze blew your hair lightly, as if greeting you after a long time. You hummed happily, barely making out the silhouette of the city in the distance. Upon seeing you approaching, Swan grinned and saluted. "Nice to see you again, Honorary Knight!"

You beamed back as Paimon rambled about your journey so far, re-enacting how you faced the Shogun, even how you took down Azhdaha. Swan chuckled nervously as they continued before you dragged away harshly. "See you, Swan!" You called out, rushing towards the Angel's Share, the sound of cobble hitting the bottom of your boots echoing in the street. You sighed, carefully opening the door to be met with a sharp gaze. It was none other than the owner, Diluc. His eyes widened as he slowly put down the drink he was pouring. "(Y/N)." He muttered, almost sprinting from behind the counter and embracing you tightly. "You're okay." He breathed, softly stroking your hair. You hugged him back, a wave of relief washing through you. It seemed all was well. "I'm so glad to see you, Diluc." You pouted as he searched for any injuries on your body. He smiled, patting you once more before retreating to the bar counter. "I am too, really," He chuckled. "Can I get you anything?"

You shook your head and told him about your plan to see the others. He wished you luck as you left the bustling tavern with a grin, the worn wood floor creaking under your heels. Paimon wiggled their eyebrows playfully, nudging you. "Hmm, what was that back there?" They hummed as you grumbled. "Oh, shut up," You laughed. After a few minutes, you were are the center of Mondstadt, with the Good Hunter on the left and the General Goods Store on your right. You spotted Sucrose chatting with Timaeus, with Albedo just behind the two. "Hey." You smiled at the trio. Sucrose gasped. "Oh my archons, (Y/N)!" She exclaimed, hugging you and shyly smiling. "It's been quite a while." Albedo said, taking your hand and planting a gentle kiss. You huffed, a bit flustered. He smirked and handed you a flower that he, as usual, conjured up from whatever material he had in his hand previously. He leaned on the crafting bench, slowly slipping the flower into your hair. "Beautiful." He chuckled as you rolled your eyes playfully.

"Oho, it seems a certain honorary knight has made their return," a familiar voice rang out. You turned around to see Kaeya, a hand on his hip as he played with his sword a bit. "I didn't think we'd see each other again so soon. I am thankful, though." He winked, but you couldn't really tell since he had an eyepatch and all... "Kae!" You smiled, embracing him tightly. He laughed, rubbing little shapes on your back tenderly. "Nice to see you too." He whispered, leaning down and kissing your forehead. Paimon squealed. "That's 3 times!" They huffed before wandering off to Good Hunter. Kaeya sighed contently, patting your back before looking at the statue of Barbatos way above. "Everything's been fine since you've left. I do hope you didn't rush over here to check."

"I'm just here to spend time with everyone." You assured him, bidding the cavalry captain and the 3 alchemists goodbye. Paimon teased you the whole trip up the inconveniently long flight of stairs, falling silent as you both gasped for air. "Oh my god, has it always been that tiring?" You coughed as you leaned on a pillar for support. Paimon shrugged, weakly pointing at the Favonius Headquarters. Pouting, you continued to walk to the building.

Jean and Lisa stood outside, discussing something near the flowery hedges that slightly concealed their presence. "Jeaaan!" Paimon called out happily. The acting grandmaster whipped her head to your direction and smiled. "Honorary Knight, Paimon. It's so great to have you here." She greeted. Lisa chuckled, placing her hand on Jean's shoulder. "My, who would've thought you'd be back so soon?" She hummed. You groaned as she ruffled your hair and whispered something about an important dinner she had to attend later on. Jean excused herself as well and wished you luck on your journey.

"Well, where to next, (Y/N)?"
