Over six months, I surreptitiously planned our day without my lover knowing.
I have been secretly flying Kate back and forth to help me with the preparations and then followed by flying about fifty of our closest friends and family to Lebanon - it's the boldest plan I've ever done, that's for sure.
Of course, my wife was involved with every decision made; from our ring, gown, headpiece, flowers, cake, music, and the list goes on - along with the fake date and venue.
And finally, today is the day I get to surprise Annika with a small spontaneous wedding.
I just thought it would be the most romantic.
Annika has just been so perfect and she deserves a perfect memory.
I gave her a fake errand to occupy her time, which then allowed me to get things done.
The wedding will be held in a beachside at 6:30 p.m., so it feels like the longest day of my life waiting for the time to come.
I'm overwhelmingly excited.
We added an altar, some flowers, and twinkle lights to the mix and it'll be a gorgeous scene that requires almost no prep work.

I step back to admire the altar, "Wow. It's breathtaking."
"Margaret Isobel!" Out of the blue, Kate speaks making me flinch by the sudden intrusion.
I hit her shoulder softly and said, "Stop that. You scared me."
"My bad. But why are you still here? And what time will Annika be home?" My best friend answered, and now I am more fully aware of my nerves.
"Uh - maybe one more hour tops."
In the interim, my dad came sprinting carrying a frantic baby, asking to be carried by mom. "Sweetheart, nothing's working and I don't know what to do."
He speaks with such urgency that I instantly turn into a protective mom, "Dad let me." I say before taking my child carefully into my arms.
Rosa cried and cried and cried, but once I started talking, "Hello there, my sweet sweet angel." she looked up and never took her eyes off Mom.
"Isn't she so beautiful? Grandpa could not stop looking at this beautiful precious girl." My dad gushed and Rosa started giggling.
By now my dad was in tears. As you can see he's very emotional and it is the sweetest thing ever.
"You're going to be spoiled by Grandad, aren't you little one?" I tickle Rosa.
