You let out a gasp. Head flinging this way and that as you hauled yourself onto your hands and knees. Loud clanging sounds surrounded you, and sweat coated your body, trailing down your face and sticking locks of (h/c) hair to your forehead.
Your heart pounded, and your body shook. All was dark other than the blue lights that occasionally zoomed past. From what you could see you were in a cage of some sorts, metal wiring keeping you contained for a reason unknown to you. You swallowed the lump that had begun to form in your throat as you glanced at the boxes and random items that surrounded you. A high-pitched squeal alerted you to the presence of an animal of some sorts.
You continued to search the small space you were trapped in, but nothing seemed familiar. You didn't know where you were, how you got there. Heck! You didn't even remember your own name! All you knew was that the box or whatever it was you were trapped in, was going up, and it was taking you with it whether you liked it or not. With a slight struggle, you managed to stagger to your feet, head spinning. You stumbled slightly as you noticed the strange numbness in your legs, and you soon found yourself falling backwards. Smashing your head into a wooden crate.
"Ow!" you cried, cradling your head with your hand as a warm liquid trickled onto your fingers. You pulled your hand away in confusion, and in the faint flicker of the passing lights you could make out a strange red substance coating your fingertips.
Blood.
That's what it was. Blood. You remembered that.
The cage shuddered, and your head snapped upwards in fear. Up above you, the shaft you rose up in seemed to stop, and a red light glowed eerily down at you. You scrambled back, half believing you were going to smash straight into the metal when the box stopped abruptly. Sending you flying across the cold metal ground once more. A loud beep sounded in your ears, and the red light turned green before pitch black surrounded you. Faint voices made their way through the dense metal and you pulled yourself towards a pile of boxes. Cramming your body behind them.
You had no idea who those voices belonged to, and you weren't taking any chances. You tried to make yourself as small as you could but just couldn't seem to get your muscles to relax. A loud grinding echoed throughout your prison and the metal above you began to move, allowing a blinding light to break through the darkness and sting your eyes.
You blinked rapidly in an attempt to adjust to the sudden brightness when the sound of voices became louder. You took a deep breath to try to steel your fear as you peered up from your hiding place. The bodies of many figures surrounded you, and you could finally make out some of the voices.
"Aye aye aye, time to meet the new Greenie."
"We could use another Slopper!"
"I bet my dinner that they're a scrawny little shank."
Laughter echoed around you and the doors to your box were flung open. You didn't dare move as a well-built boy jumped down, his eyes scouring the small space under rather interesting shaped eyebrows.
"Who is it!?" someone called down to the boy.
"I don't know," he called back up, "Can't see 'em."
"They're probably hiding. Box probably scared the klunk out of 'em."
'Greenie? slopper? shank? and now klunk?' you thought to yourself, 'Who are these people?'
"Here Greenie, Greenie, Greenie. No point hiding." You clenched your fists as the man let out a loud laugh. Everyone else joining in. He began sifting through boxes and was getting increasingly closer to your hiding place. Now that you'd had time to fully assess the situation, your only option was to fight your way out. If you could somehow find a way to hold the boy hostage, these people, whoever they were, would have no choice but to let you be.
