Chapter four

"So, how was the potion?"

Mula sa iniinom na alak ay nag-angat siya ng tingin. Cece sat beside her and ordered a glass of juice from the bartender. Umangat ang isang kilay niya doon. Cece, catching her look just smiled.

"I'm on breastfeeding. Can't let my baby boys drink at an early age, can I?" She joked.

"Motherhood really becomes you." She said dryly.

"It's a lot to handle, but I'm enjoying it." Cece answered before sipping her juice. Mayamaya pa'y humarap ito sa kanya. "Now enough about me. How was the potion?"

"I haven't used it yet."

Cece smirked. "Really? Why don't I believe that?"

Kung sa akala niya'y mapapaikot niya ang babaeng ito ay nagkakamali siya. Tsk. Sino ba ang niloko niya? Cece may have left the military but she's still as sharp as a damn knife.

Tumikhim siya bago ito hinarap.

"Hindi ko pa talaga nagagamit."

"You mean sa lalaking gusto mo?"

Natigilan siya ngunit mabilis niyang inayos ang ekspresyon. She doesn't want Cece hinting anything although she thinks she already knows everything. Dammit! Why is she so sharp?

"I don't know what you're talking about."

Cece chuckled. "The guys might not know. Hindi naman kasi sila ang nilapitan mo para sa plano mo. Pero ako... I put two and two together when I saw how you and River reacted earlier. You two were quite obvious."

She released a frustrated sigh. "I fucked up." Amin niya pagkatapos.

"I figured that much when you blatantly asked Magnus about his absence at the party."

Napangiwi siya. Hindi talaga kasi niya napigilan ang sarili kanina. Inihilamos niya ang palad sa mukha.

"Seeing you disgruntled, I reckon River was as pissed as you are with what happened?"

Napa-irap siya. "He acted like I took advantage of him. The nerve."

"But you did." Cece said matter of factly.

Sinamaan niya ito ng tingin. "I thought he was Magnus." She hissed.

"Yeah but unfortunately, he wasn't Magnus. So in reality, you took advantage of him."

She bit her lower lip. Her ego was bruised by the truth.

"Now he won't shut up about it."

Cece laughed. "I know River. Hindi ka talaga nun titigilan. Considering the animosity between you two."

Napabuga na lang siya ng marahas. Kelan ba nagsimula ang animosity nila ni Nuniez sa isa't isa? Ah... of course it happened the first time they met.

Matagal na niyang gusto si Magnus. When Cole left the military, she was so devastated. She had a crush on him for years. She was planning on telling him what she really felt but the busy military life prevented her from doing so. Ng malaman niyang ikinasal ito sa iba, doon niya naisip na... paano kung nagtapat siya ng nararamdaman niya dito? May mangyayari kaya? Mabibigyan kaya sila ng pagkakataon? Of course those are just what ifs now. Hindi na niya malalaman pa ang mga kasagutan dahil pagmamay-ari na si Cole ng iba.

When Magnus was assigned to their camp, she instantly felt her heart beat like how it did with Cole. Unti-unti ay nagustuhan niya ito. She was so taken with the way he handled things during missions. His leadership amazes her. Ang kaseryosohan nito sa trabaho ang talaga namang hinangaan niya. Before she knew it, she already started liking him. At ipinangako niya sa sariling wala siyang palalampasing pagkakataon. She showed him what she felt for him every time she had the chance to. She wore her heart on her sleeves. Ipinaalam niya sa lahat ang nararamdaman niya para dito.
