"Okay this is way too complicated. So let me reiterate. You started liking him from the first sight, like love at first sight!" Sandee exclaimed.
Pok nodded in affirmation.
"Then you tried to kiss him while being drunk when he came to tutor you and he said no. So your proud arrogant ass got butthurt."
"Yeah, if you put it that straightforwardly!" Pok complained.
"And your mom was also hospitalized that night while you were drunk. So you felt ashamed of yourself and guilty."
"Yeah, and that was my motivation to live up to my mom's expectation. I decided never to let her down. That was a big blow from life."
"Why didn't you contact Tong or take tuitions from him?"
"Because of what you said earlier. I...I was 'butthurt' that he didn't feel the same way about me." Pok sounded guilty.
"Then when he came to ask for forgiveness on the day of our job interview results, you put forward a proposition to keep him with you even if he doesn't love you."
"That's right." Pok nodded.
"You still seem like an arrogant piece of shit to me! If he doesn't love you, you force him to live with you!" Sandee chuckled.
"It's more than that. I really love him. I knew if I forgave him then, he would be on his way and I would be friendzoned forever. I can't watch him be with someone else. So I had to keep him with me. I want to keep him with me as long as I can. Maybe I can keep doing this forever."
"Pok, you sound so childish right now. I can't believe Tong fell for that. You both are naive. You can't keep him that way forever. I don't know why he is still putting up with this. He should have packed his bags and left by now. You been controlling him for almost a year it seems." Sandee was so surprised by what was happening with Pok and Tong.
"What do I do then?" Pok asked.
"You can force him to stay with you for longer maybe but you can't force someone to fall in love with you." Sandee stated.
"I gotta go. Tong is probably waiting in the car." Pok wanted this conversation to be over. He was living happily with Tong. Why did Sandee have to come and ruin it!
"Wait, do you know if he has feelings for you or not for sure?" Sandee interrupted.
Pok nodded his head sideways.
"Try to find out. Maybe he hasn't left you yet because he himself wants to be a part of your life and stay with you. If he cared for you so much to go against his usual personality trait and commit a wrong, I wouldn't be surprised if he secretly loves you at this point. Really, Pok, find out."
Pok felt good finally. He went and hugged Sandee before leaving.
