"I can't eat this, I literally have no Nafs" Sadeeq said while poking at his food, even though he had to eat he just had no appetite of doing so. Firdaus gave him her fruit since it was the only 'exception' as he says for when he has no appetite for eating.
Saha helped him to sit up and brought us more fruit and the best apple juice in their mini cups.
Even though we were to stay away from sugar, we couldn't help but treat ourselves to atleast the apple juice.Saha read out our day plan and informed us that our parents will be coming in for the chemo update and what they're going to then go forth with.
Saha was in her mid 20's, 25 to be exact and. She was say 5'5ft tall and very slim since when you'd look at her wrist, you'd see her watch clasped at the second hole. She would normally dress in casual clothes trying to blend in with the patients or as she calls 'family' at the clinic or try to dress more formal where she just wears a doctors jacket on top of her outfits. She was clearly single and had been working here ever since Sadeeq had been here. After we finished our talking, my phone started ringing which obviously had been Amal. I answered in a heartbeat after 3 rings and excitedly asked her how the marriage was.
"No how am I? Tamam tamam, haha I've missed you all wayyy too much though man, what is this? You guys get to have more fun without me man. The marriage has been amazing though, if you see the way this man treats me though. Allhamdulilah, but how have you guys been going? You killed any one of them yet?"
Amal said all in one great as she couldn't believe she had heard my voice after what? Three days?"I care about this marriage of yours more my love, and yesss we're throwing parties after parties. I tend to forget we're here because of cancer honestly" I said and everyone chuckled.
"Oh don't we love that for us hayat, I even tend to forget where you guys are. At times I think you're on a honeymoon with Sadeeq and Firdaus is too busy with her husband travelling and at times I think you're all just- OH I NEVER MEANT TO EVEN SAY THAT, I'm not on speaker am I?...right?" The silence filled the room up way faster than I had expected before Sadeeq let out a fake laugh when he realised how red I became the second she said his name. Even though his laugh made matters worse, it was better than the silence.
"Ahhaaa finally sma3na sawtak, I was just fooling around with you btw Hayati, not like he heard me"
"AMAL"
"My little kiddooo sadeeq how have you been doing my guy? Is everything going well? How's the fammm doing on your end?"
Amal cut me off before I had the chance to even tell her full name out."Everything's going gr-"
"That's amazing isn't it? And you Firdaus?"
"Haha sucked in, it's been fan-"
"We love that for ussss babe, anyways I wanted to call you guys to tell you your girl is bringing along a baby on board, she's become a submarine here" she finally let out after god knows how long she waited to finally tell us.
We all looked at each other with the same expression of 'IM SO EXCITED TO MEET THE BABY ALREADY' on our faces as I leaped to Sadeeqs bed and sat on the empty bit opposite Firdaus. We started asking her tons of questions like, how long have you been pregnant? Is it a boy or a girl? Any names yet? Nursery room plans? When's the baby shower? And then the obvious one. What was his reaction? After our half an hour talk and her actually giving sadeeq and Firdaus the chance to say how they're doing. She ent the call with a bye bye I have an appointment with my midwife and sent her salams and kisses through the phone.
We three had a whole baby fever talk and how the baby would look if it was to be either a girl or a boy.
