Roger had left Lily alone in the early hours of the morning for a day in the studio. Usually, Lily wouldn't have minded him leaving in such a hurry but something seemed off with him. There had been something off for weeks, but she didn't want to pry him about it, knowing that if she did then it probably wouldn't end well.

Roger had been slowly straying further and further away from her, always leaving the house at any chance he could. 'Maybe he's just busy with band and has other things on his mind' Lily would often say to herself, although it didn't really seem like that anymore. It seemed as though Roger didn't really care for her now in contrast to how he did at the beginning. Nothing really seemed to be clicking quite as perfectly in to place in comparison to when they first met. Lily knew she had to confront him about, but she was too scared to. She knew he could be cold at times, even if he did mean well. Emotions weren't really his forte, but Lily knew he was trying.

She made her way over to the telephone that was hung up by the mirror and slowly dialed the number, hands shaking slightly at the thought of confronting Roger.
After a few minutes of the phone ringing, someone finally picked up the phone. "Hello?" A voice Lily never expected to hear spoke from the other end.
"Hello Roger." Lily replied.
"What is it?" He asked rather harshly. Lily knew he never meant for it to sound harsh, that was just his nature at times, but she felt as though she never really mattered to him anymore.
"Roger," she sighed, "What happened to us?" She looked exasperated. She wanted to know what she had done wrong to make him not want to be around her.
"What do you mean, Lily?"
She scoffed, "What do I mean? Roger, you barely spend time with me anymore, let alone speak to me! What have I done so wrong to turn you against me?!" She had finally lost it. She wanted answers.
"Lily," she heard him sigh from the other end, "You haven't done anything wrong." He stated simply.
"So why has everything suddenly changed? Why now?" Her voice broke. She hated crying in front of him but all of her pent up anger and sadness were now finally getting the better of her; she couldn't hold it in any longer.
"Nothing has changed, I still love you Lily."

"Yeah? Well you have a funny way of showing it!" She retorted, her temper quickly igniting.

"Just don't go anywhere! I'm coming home." Roger spoke quickly as he put the phone down. Lily groaned in frustration, slamming the phone back in its place. The studio was about half an hour away - if he was walking. She paced back and forth for what felt like years, until she finally heard the door handle twist open. Roger walked in, closing the door quickly and taking large strides towards her, as if what he had to tell her couldn't wait any longer.

He placed his hands on her arms and rubbed circles with his thumbs to soothe her while he spoke, "I don't want interrupted until I'm finished." He told her, to which all she could do was nod and oblige. "I love you, more than anything. And it scares me that I love someone so much. And yes, I know how harsh I can be, I just don't want you to get hurt." He sighed reaching into his coat pocket and bringing out a blue velvet box. "I wasn't going to do this yet, at least not in this way but now seems as though it's as good a time as ever," he let out a breath before getting down on one knee in front of her. Lily didn't know what to say, she was speechless. She felt awful for accusing him of who knows what, but could anyone blame her? The heartache and loss she suffered before she met Roger had a huge part to play on how she acted now. She wasn't really to blame.

"I don't have a soppy speech to say to you, I'm not very good with those, I think we both know that by now," they both giggled at each other before he continued, "But there is one thing I am certain about, there's no person I'd rather spend the rest of my life with than you. Everything I want to do, I want to do with it you. So, Lily, will you make me the happiest sod on the planet and marry me?" He smiled a wide smile up at her as she frantically nodded. "Yes! A thousand times yes!" She smiled widely back at him as he stood up and placed the ring on her finger before kissing her passionately. She held onto him for dear life when they embraced each other, she snuggled into his chest further before looking up at him, to see him looking down at her.
"I thought I was gonna lose you, Roger." She looked into his eyes as he softened at the sight of her teary ones. He pulled her closer to him, if that was even possible, and placed a kiss to the top of her head before resting his chin on the top of hers - it wasn't hard as he was considerably taller than she was.
He shook his head, "You'll never lose me. Ever. I promise." She smiled into his chest, and at that moment she knew that Roger was all the family she needed.
