Lily woke up to the sun peeking over the horizon, spreading splashes of yellow and orange hues out all over the walls. That was what she loved most about summer, the colours it brought to the countryside made it look almost ethereal. Lily smiled sleepily as she turned around and faced Roger, his hair all messy and strewn all over the pillow. She reached out and tried to tidy it up a bit, a soft giggle escaped her lips. Even with messy hair, he still managed to look as handsome as ever.
He began stirring in his sleep, before eventually waking up.

"What?" Roger spoke groggily as he propped himself up next to her.

"Nothing." She smiled in adoration, a blush making its way onto her already rose-flushed cheeks.
"I'm just admiring you." She shrugged, looking down at her hands.
He smiled softly before letting out a hearty laugh. He reached up and cupped her cheek, making her look up right into his eyes.
"I love you, you know." He whispered gently, his eyes filled with admiration.
"I know Rog, I love you too." Lily smiled up at him, she never realised but a stray tear rolled down her cheek. She hoped Roger hadn't seen, but he had, and he had been the one to wipe it away with his thumb.
He quickly wrapped her up in his arms, placing his head on top of Lily's.
"What's wrong?" He asked, kissing her temple as a form of comfort.
She let out a breath before sighing and snuggling further into the comfort of Roger's chest. No matter where she went or who she met, her home was with Roger. It always would be.

"I just didn't think anyone would be able to love me." Her grip tightened around Roger's waist as they stayed wrapped in each other's arms in the comfort of their bed. The yellow and orange hues illuminating each of their features.
He slowly pulled away so he could look down at her face, he held her face with his hands and looked at her with a fondness in his eyes, his face softening.
"I love you. More than you'll ever know, and I'm never going to let you go." They both smiled at each other before embracing each other again. They fell back into the bed, Lily's head on Roger's chest. He rubbed circles on Lily's back as a sign of affection.
Roger wasn't usually the sort of person who showed such an intimate amount of affection very often, but with Lily he felt different. With Lily, he felt that he didn't have to show his hard exterior all the time, he could let that front down and be affectionate with her. She was his other half; she was what he had been missing.

"How about we stay like this for a while?" He asked, looking at the hues splashed out over the ceiling. Lily hummed into his chest. "Can't we stay like this forever?" She mumbled, too caught up in the moment.
Roger sighed, "I wish we could, but time doesn't wait for anyone; it doesn't stand still. Let's just enjoy every moment we have together." He sighed in content, closing his eyes to cherish the moment he was having with Lily. He was thinking back to all the times he had been cold with her, and all the times he'd made it up to her. Not many people had been as understanding as she had been.
"Don't go anywhere today, just stay here with me." Lily whined. Maybe she was acting like a child, but with Roger being in such a good mood, she wanted to stay here with him in this moment forever.
"Believe me," he started, pulling her closer if that was even possible. "I'm not going anywhere today."
Lily smiled into his chest which made him smile too.

"Promise me, that no matter what happens or where we go from here, you'll always come back to me." Lily looked up at him so see him looking down at her fondly.
"I promise I'll always come back to you; just like a compass, it could point anywhere and in any direction but it only chooses one place, and that place for me is always with you. It always will be with you. My home is with you." He kissed her nose before moving to her forehead and then finally her lips.
Lily placed her head back on his chest to hear his heartbeat.
"My home is with you too, Roger. I knew it was the day we met." She let out a yawn before her eyes started closing, "I love you, Roggie." She mumbled sleepily as she fell into a deep slumber, her head still placed delicately on his chest. He smiled at the nickname she had given him, he kept her close as she slept. He didn't want to let her go.
He would fiddle with strands of her hair every now and then, wondering how he got so lucky. And in that moment he realised, he didn't need anything else. The money seemed worthless compared to the love of his life right in front of him. She was worth more than anything that money could buy. She was his forever.
Roger had finally found a place to call home.
