Maybe it's meant to be. A Brennen Taylor fanfic.

Chapter eight

A few hours after watching movies and snuggling on the couch, Abby arrived at home. "I think I got the job!" She yelled very excitedly. "That's great Abbs!" Brennen and I said in unison. We gave each other a look of confusion. "You two alright?" Abby giggled. "Totally." We chirped in unison once again. "Jinx you owe me a soda!" Brennen yelled at me. "What are you 5?" I said jokingly. "Circle dot, I do not." I added. "Oh look who's smooth." Brennen whispered as he gave me a faint kiss on the cheek. 

Later on that night Abby and I went out to eat to celebrate her new job. Brennen went to a friends house to come up with skit ideas for his YouTube videos. 

"So how is everything going with Mr. Meant to be?" 
"Oh Abby. He is seriously so wonderful. I don't know what I did to deserve this."
"Well I am happy for you. But I have some bad news..." I felt my heart hit the ground when those fowl words left Abby's lips. "Wha- What are you talking about, Abbs?" I could feel the nerves building up in my chest. "Jake got ahold of your parents and told him you ran away from his house. They think you are missing. And not that they can do much about it, but they think you have went missing and they tried to get ahold of me today and they are furious with both of us. Some how, and by that I mean Jake, they know where we are and they plan on coming here." What the hell. "What are they gonna do when they get here? I am old enough to be on my own. I am not in high school anymore." 
"I don't know what they are gonna do Carley, but what I do know is if you want to keep Brennen safe, you need to keep this out of this, even if that means leaving him until it blows over."
"I can't just leave him for no reason!!! That's insane, Abby!" 
"You have to do it if you love him. He doesn't deserve to be pulled into this mess."

It's Saturday morning and my parents will be here sometime Monday. I gotta break it to Brennen somehow without totally crushing him. 

*Knock knock* Brennen answers the door looking even more handsome than before. "Hey gorgeous girl." he tried to pull me in for a kiss. "Brennen, we need to talk." His beautiful smile dropped at the sound of those words. "Um, okay. Is everything okay?" By this time, we have been dating for several months. Everything was so perfect in our relationship, I could barely choke up any words before my tears started to fall. "No, Brennen. Nothing is okay. You know I love you, right?" 
"Of course I do, I love you too, Carley. What is going on?" I had a knot in my throat. With tears rolling down my cheeks, I finally spoke up. "We can't see eachother anymore, Brennen. Something has came up and I need you to understand I will never loose my feelings for you, but its for the best of us if we just don't see eachother anymore." Brennens eyes started to water. "Wha- Carley??" 
"I am sorry Brennen." I leaned in to give him a hug but he pushed me away. "Does this have to do with Jake?!" He looked furious at this point. "NO! Brennen this has nothing to do with another guy. I love you. But we can't do this anymore, I am sorry." 
"Just leave, Carley."
"Brenne-"
"LEAVE." This time he shouted at me. He has never raised his voice at me. 
I headed for the door and as I was closing it, I said "I love you, Brennen. Forever." Then closed the door tight. I have never felt so much anger and sorrow in my heart. My chest hurt so bad. I could barely make it back to my door. Abby was right. I had to make sure Brennen wasn't pulled into this mess. I hope I didn't just say I love you to him for the last time.
