HI

Harry POV

That night after dinner, Hermione, Ron and I discussed what had happened during Defense Against the Dark Arts.

"They're a strange group, they are," Ron said, with his mouth full of bread he brought back from dinner.

"I saw them all go into a different place to sleep tonight," I recalled. "They instead just opened a portrait of a giant statue. Draco went in there with them!"

"He did?" Hermione asked.

"How can you be friends with someone like him?" Ron asked.

"He's really nice, funny," Hermione responded.

"Can we return to the topic of the Americans?" I asked. Hermione nodded.

"So, we know they have their own room, they know Draco, and burn food. Will's worst fear is Nico dying. Reyna's worst fear is that man, who looks like her father. Percy's worst fear is having Annabeth fall into this fiery place by herself. Nico's is... complicated. Reyna had a weird life. Are we missing something?" Hermione asked.

"Reyna, Nico, and Percy have a tattoo that looks like the Dark Mark. And Draco also has a tattoo where his Dark Mark used to be," Ron said. "Do you reckon they're old Death Eaters who want revenge?"

"That seems like a good theory," I said. "That explains why they're hanging out with Malfoy."

"Draco is not evil!" Hermione insisted. "Even when he had the Dark Mark, it was when his father forced him."

"Whatever," I said. "I'm going to bed."

I walked up the stairs, and into my bed. I decided I would go to sleep tonight, not thinking of the Americans, and work on that tomorrow. Apparently, whatever cruel thing that controls this world had other ideas.

I was in a dark alleyway, and there were two kids there. One was a blonde boy. Tall, blue eyes, and a scar over one eye. The other was a girl with blue eyes, dark hair, and a creepy shield.

"Something's down there. I sense it," the blonde boy said, nodding towards the alley. A hammer then flew past his face, and a little blonde girl came out.

"No more monsters! Go away!" She yelled.

"It's okay," The blonde said. "Thalia, put your shield away! You're scaring her!"

'Thalia's shield turned into a bracelet, and she dropped her spear.

"Hey, little girl," Thalia said. "It's all right. I'm Thalia. This is Luke."

"Monsters?" the girl asked.

"No," Luke said. "We fight them too." Luke handed her a knife. "Knives are only for the bravest and quickest fighters. I have a feeling you're pretty clever. What's your name?" He handed her the knife. What person gives a little girl a knife?

"Annabeth." I then realized this was the same Annabeth who went to our school. The scene shifted, and soon I was on a hill. Annabeth, Thalia, and Luke were all running with this other man who was half goat. Thalia stopped and turned.

"Go! I'll hold it off!" Thalia shouted.

"No, Thalia!" Annabeth yelled, and the scene shifted again. Annabeth was in a room with lots of cots. On one was someone who looked like a younger Percy.

"You drool when you sleep," Annabeth said. The scene shifted, and Percy was holding Thalia, who was covered in tree sap. Annabeth had tears in her eyes.

"My name is Thalia," Thalia said. The scene shifted again, and I was in a mountain. Annabeth was struggling to hold up some invisible barrier. The scene changed again, and Annabeth, Luke, and Percy were all standing in this room full of thrones.

"Please," Luke groaned. "No time." Percy handed Luke a knife. Annabeth was crying. The goat man was there again, trying to help Annabeth stand. Luke stabbed himself, and Annabeth ran over.

"You knew," Luke said. "I almost killed you, but you knew."

"Shh," Annabeth said. "You were a hero in the end, Luke."

"Did you love me?" Luke asked. Annabeth locked eyes with Percy.

"You were like a brother to me, Luke. But I didn't love you," she said. Luke nodded, then closed his eyes. The scene shifted. I was in this camp. Annabeth ran up to this buff girl with brown hair.

"Clarisse? Have you seen Percy? He's been missing for two days," Annabeth said.

'Clarisse' looked at Annabeth. "Haven't seen Prissy in a while, to be honest."

"Where is he?" Annabeth asked, frustrated. The scene shifted to Annabeth in a crowd with three people in orange shirts behind her. Percy and Reyna were wearing purple, and so was the rest of the crowd. Annabeth rushed to Percy and kissed him, then proceeded to judo-flip him. The scene shifted to Annabeth underground, showing a huge spider something on a computer. She had a broken ankle, and she looked terrified. The scene shifted, and she was dangling off a cliff, holding Percy's hand. Nico was trying to get them, but he couldn't reach them.

"Percy, let me go," Annabeth said. "You can't pull me up."

"Never," He responded, before looking up at Nico. "The other side, Nico! We'll see you there, understand?"

Nico's eyes widened. "But-"

"Lead them there! Promise me!" Percy shouted.

"I will."

Percy looked at Annabeth. "We're staying together. You're not getting away from me. Never again." Percy then let go. I wanted to yell at how stupid that decision was, but the scene shifted. Annabeth and Percy spilled out of an elevator, looking awful. The scene shifted again to them fighting in the same camp as earlier. The scene shifted to them in a car with the goat man, smiling and laughing. It shifted one last time to them on the porch of some house with Reyna.

"Jason's dead," a girl with frizzy hair said, her eyes puffy from crying. A chinese boy held her close, and all of them started crying.

I gasped and woke up. I realized this was all Annabeth's past. I looked at the time, and went down to breakfast. Annabeth was at the Gryffindor table with the other Americans. I slid next to her.

"I need help," I started, trying to get information out of her. "Ron asked me to help him with his homework, and so did Sean and Neville, but I don't know it. Talk about the weight of the whole world on your shoulders, huh?"

Annabeth flinched, then laughed. "I would help, but Percy and I have a date later today. Sorry."

I walked away, defeated.
