A/N: this is from my AU 'Bittersweet Days' but it can still act like sweet n simple SamxYuki moment

Highschool
A low humming sound was only heard in the house, the moon already being in the sky with the stars following with it, so it was simply said that everyone in the house was asleep. Though with a guest, Sammy boy.
The reason why he's sleeping on the same bed as Yuki was because; 1. Yuki and him have been dating for around a year during highschool so they were comfortable and 2. they couldn't find a suitable place that can fit his night habits, and height. It was embarrassing at first, especially if you wanted to keep a relationship hidden from your friends to only get caught by your girlfriend's friends first. That event was uh.. something for Sam to say the least.
He never had a realistic reason on why he wanted to keep the relationship quiet from Taurtis and Grian, but Yuki wanted to respect his boundaries and not make it obvious that they were dating, which is pretty easy for being in a totally different group from each other. The hard part was ignoring the urge to hold his hand, at least. Yuki doesn't know when Sam will have the courage to openly tell their relationship, but she didn't want to push it as often as Sookie and Soul were doing it, they mean no harm but Sam needs some time.
Now she didn't know why she woke up with the moon still in the sky and the humming of the A/C still going off. Yuki was a light sleeper most of the time but this time it felt different and knew what was wrong when she turned her head towards Sam.
Sam was the one who woke up with a start, getting a bad vision in his sleep that was too blurry to understand, but he knew it scared his heart out. He tried processing the vision as he lazily rubbed the bridge of his nose, his body slowly relaxing back on the bed after it almost bounced off the bed. That would've been embarrassing with Yuki next to him.
He felt his heart beating fast, trying to breathe slowly in order to relax himself since, again, it was just in his head, not real life. He let his eyes wander on the sight of the ceiling, tracing the shape of his face with his fingers at the same time to just.. think. Think of why something scared him at a horrible time of sleeping with his girlfriend. His bunny ears then twitched, picking up some movement, making his face turn to the direction of Yuki back at her. He felt somewhat guilty of waking up Yuki, but he shouldn't, they couldn't control their dreams after all. Relaxed at the sight of her, he let Yuki grab his hand gently.
"Bad dream?.." Yuki softly murmured to Sam, trying not to make any loud noises but Sam luckily had good hearing, as to seeing him nodding his head a little. With that, she rubbed Sam's knuckles with her thumb and waited for Sam.
"I.. um.. I don't know what it was this time.." Sam said softly back, "It was just.. sound..?"
"What type of sound?" Yuki asked.
"..." Sam looked confused on himself on what sound he heard, but then looked down at their hands, "Screaming.. I'm guessing.."
Yuki looked at him, having a clue on why he heard that after he explained his trauma a while back, but didn't question that part. She knew Sam would've agreed either way.
"Come closer to me." Yuki whispered to him, letting go of his hand and watched him shuffle closer. Once he was in a good reach, she gently raised her hand and ran it through Sam's bunch of curls. She felt how soft it was, and messy as well, to let her fingers linger on the curls. Sam had pretty long hair with the lack of a proper barber shop around the town, but that made it easier to calm him.
Yuki then gently gave him some scritches on top of his head, being careful with his ears that were slowly lowering as Sam started to feel sleepy. Her nails moved around the bundle of hair, going behind the ears next to make him fall asleep quicker. She smiled softly, hearing a faint sound of teeth grinding together from Sam to show that he was purring, something she found out on researching rabbit facts.
She then removed her hand from the curls and looked at Sam, seeing her boyfriend being peacefully asleep once again. Snuggling up inside the blanket, she placed a faint kiss on Sam's freckled cheek and closed her eyes.
"Sweet dreams Sammy.."
