Soundwave heard a humming, pleasant to the audio, though clearly a recording of some sort.
He'd know a recording when he heard one.
The mech opened his optics slowly, finding himself staring at the ceiling of his personal quarters. He thought a moment as his processor filtered through the fog of waking. His visor displayed a warning that he was low on energon, his stores having been nearly depleted and forced him to shut down in order to save some power. He then realized where he was, and it was not the floor of his room.
Sitting up abruptly, Soundwave felt for Laserbeak on his chassis, but he wasn't there. A panic rose through their bond, but Laserbeak's gentle nudge to his helm eased that tension to nothing.
:We made it.: the avian assured, resting his hovering in Soundwave's safe servos.
That was when the mech took notice of the silent presence of his double, standing eerily at his computer, though she was facing him directly. Both remained motionless as they stared, memorizing each other, despite their knowledge of the form of the other. (Y/N) still wore the mask over her features, having either not taken it off yet, or she'd rather keep it on.
:She is fully functional,: Laserbeak informed, hovering once again from his master's servos, :aside from her voice. The last two percent needed to complete her transformation was her voice box. It's there but underdeveloped, so her voice sounds like as if a rock is stuck between pistons.:
Soundwave stood, apparently to quickly for (Y/N)'s liking as she stepped back. He moved with a slower pace, soon being directly in front of her. The pair stared, a mirror image of the other in height, build and appearance. Soundwave noted one obvious difference, and that was her colors were a fraction darker than his, as if the cloning process dulled the purple hues, though they were already dark. It wasn't so obvious in the low light of the Nemesis, but side by side in the light of Earth's sun may make their difference somewhat discoverable. Besides her lack of Laserbeak, anyway, and the soon to be added Decepticon insignias to her shoulders.
The two decided to move, each reaching for (Y/N)'s mask, which halted the action of both beings as they stared. Soundwave wanted to see her features, and (Y/N) was willing to do so. However, the mech felt that she was only willing because of his own want to see their similarities. This was his CNA he had donated, after all, and (Y/N) believed the same. If Shockwave was right, and they thought along the same wavelength, then Soundwave could guess (Y/N) was not comfortable enough with her visage to want to reveal it.
(Y/N) reached to remove the visor from its lower lip, but Soundwave pushed her servo from it with his own. She stared once more with what he guessed to be a surprised expression beneath her visor. He then tapped the black void that mimicked his with a digit, and it lit up to show her spark beat, as well as brain wave activity. He noted her spark held one small anomaly, but that was what remained of her human heart, and was not a concern. Her mental capacity had not seemed to weaken or strengthen with her new form, but she was far likelier to retain and store information with nearly impossible accuracy, as her donor did. He let the images disappear before she spoke.
"We no longer feel our shared pain?" She questioned huskily, startling the mech, who straightened stiffly. Her voice was as Laserbeak described: gravelly and nearly offensive to the audio, but it was likely repairable. His reaction resulted in the shrinking of the femme before him, her posture going slack, and she said no more. As the femme was with her lenses far before now, she was self-conscious of the imperfection in her otherwise flawless form.
Soundwave responded with a nod, relaxing in an obvious manner to ease any fears or insecurities that may have already taken hold of her currently fragile mind. She was as moldable and vulnerable as a protoform, and most likely would be very easily taken advantage of with the unfamiliarity of her body. It was far quicker, larger and more powerful than even M.E.C.H. could hope to achieve, as it was natural, and not a manufactured human copy. (Y/N) would likely need extensive training over her newly acquired offensive and defensive assets, as well as brushed over the Cybertronian anatomy. She had already studied it, but Soundwave guessed teaching her of his own would be far more beneficial for her to properly pilot her new form.
-/The connection/Is/Severed/- She attempted to inquire with the new ability to play recordings, and Soundwave was surprised to hear the voice of Shockwave. (Y/N) likely heard some of what was said within her comatose state. How a faint memory could be turned into a recording, he was unsure.
He shook his helm slowly and played his own recording of Shockwave.
-/The power left by the Matrix will grow with her new body, and so will the connection as the human becomes nearly identical to you./-
(Y/N) nodded her understanding before stepping back to show Soundwave her work on the computers. She had apparently created her own file as a Decepticon soldier and attached her old one Soundwave had created long ago. It held a new mugshot of the femme, her visor attached, and what information she knew to provide.
Designation: (Y/N)
Species: Altered Life Form
Rank: Foot Soldier
Her initiative was impressive, but Soundwave corrected her two guesses.
Species: Cybertronian
Rank: Inapplicable
He could feel her questioning stare once he finished his typing, and the mech allowed the femme to see her black hole of a mask within the void of his own. She tilted her helm curiously, still unsure of his meaning before Laserbeak bumped her helm, transforming to attach to her chassis. The femme stared at the bird-like Minicon for a while before looking back to her companion and double.
"Then I am truly your shadow."
