❥ 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝓀𝒾𝓃𝑔𝓈 𝑜𝒻 𝓈

before episode 11- chapter one

It was the day of the race, Adam against Reki. Adam practically knew he was going to win against this boy that seemingly tried to "steal" his eve" from him. However, Reki was doing it for a reason, he didn't want some old man to get perverted with his best friend. This is why Reki was going to try his hardest to win.

The day before the race, Reki had seemingly put on rain wheels after having a big talk with Langa about it. If it happened to be where it didn't rain, Reki would have to find some alternative to win, even though that was gonna be practically impossible, especially against someone who's a talented skater like Adam.

"So, are you really going to put on the rain wheels?" Langa asked after their discussion about it. It would be a difficult decision, especially since it could mean Reki's own downfall against Adam. He would be embarrassed more than normally if he was really far behind him.

"Hmm... I think so." The red haired replied, beginning to put the wheels on. It was generally a decision he had put thought it, and it would later prove to be smart.

That same day, since it happened to be raining, Langa and Reki decided to try the wheels out. Practicing was needed anyway, especially against a maniac who was going insane over teenagers. The moment they went outside, Langa looked at Reki and was a little nervous he was going to hurt himself by falling. The tables had turned this time; Langa was worrying about Reki instead of Reki worrying about him.

"Hey... uhm Reki... be careful, alright? In both the race, and practicing. I don't want you to get hurt." The blue haired male told him in a quieter voice than usual.

"Langa, don't worry about me, alright?" He responded, turning around and dropping his skateboard so he can put his hands on Langa's shoulders. He might've dropped it on his foot too, which made him wince a little bit and move his foot, but in the end he chuckled. "I'll be fine, I skated in the rain before. Plus, I won't let him hurt me again. That creepy old man isn't getting away with hurting anyone anymore." Reki started to think, putting his hand on his face. "I'll even bet him something else too. I just need you to cheer me on, and then we both now we can win."

Langa smiled and nodded, blushing a little bit. Usually, it would be the other way around. He would need Reki to mainly win his hard races, but now Reki seemed like he needed him, no one else but him. It made him feel special. "I'll be there to cheer you on, I promise Reki."

The red haired chuckled and nodded. "That's a promise then. You better be there to win against Adam if I happen to lose though. I can't promise I'll win, sorry."

"Reki, I won't get mad if you lose. Just believe in yourself. You got this." Langa replied back, trying to encourage him a bit. It was refreshing for him to be smiling and happy again, especially after it seemed like forever when they were fighting. It seems like it hadn't even been that long since they made up either.

Time seemed to fly by as they were practicing, with Langa praising moves that Reki did, and even Langa helping him a bit. It was more of a repay of how much Reki had taught him. Though, one thing remained on the red hairs mind. If it didn't rain, he was going to be in trouble. Since he wasn't super talented like everyone else, he couldn't pull off any big tricks. Not any tricks like Joe, Cherry, or even Langa. Reki accepted that fact too, so mainly another thing he was thinking of was: if I couldn't pull this one trick that I am thinking of off, then Langa could definitely pull it off. This was because he thought Langa was just so cool, and it felt amazing that he, himself had basically taught the Canadian the tricks he knew to this day, despite him snowboarding in the past.

They soon both said their goodbyes as they skateboarded back home to part ways until the next day at school. Then after that, it would be time for the race. This is where everything would happen.

(AHH so sorry if this was a bit rushed, i did this in like 20 mins before i had to go to school. anyways, i'll try and get a chapter out every week, hopefully longer than this one. i hope y'all enjoy this series so far :')
