The next day~~

You gazed down at white hospital sheets, frowning slightly, partially from worry, partially from anger.
You'd insisted you were fine but Steve and Wanda made you go to the hospital, giving strict instructions to not move and just relax and recover.

Loki had stayed by your side the whole night, but had left that morning to get you both breakfast.
That had been 2 hours ago, and there was still no sign of him. You glanced up anxiously at the door to your hospital room as it swung open, revealing Wanda on the other side.

"Hey." You smiled leaning back against your ridiculously big mound of pillows that Loki had set up.

"Hi, how are you doing?" She carried a small round container with what you hoped was some of her famous soup

"Hi, how are you doing?" She carried a small round container with what you hoped was some of her famous soup.
"Much better. I told you guys I don't need—"
"Ah, ah." She interrupted, waggling her finger in your face, though a fond smile lifted her lips. "You're not leaving this place for at least one more night."
"Whyyyy...?" You whined.
"I said so." Wanda glanced around the room in slight confusion. "Where's Loki? He was practically glued to you last night."

You followed her gaze to the empty chair. "He left to get breakfast but he's been gone for almost 2 hours..." you bit your lip. "I'm worried something happened but I don't have my phone to call him.."
"Oooh...." She nodded slowly, as though she just realized something.
"What? Is something wrong? Did he tell you something?" You leaned forward.
"No. Nothings wrong, we were talking about your family last night. They're gonna be here today remember?"
"Oh! Yeah! Yes! I can't believe I forgot!" You smacked a hand to your head, "what is wrong with me?!"
"Hey, you can't blame yourself, you've had a rough week." Wanda patted your leg, scooting over to sit beside you. "They'll be here soon, I think Loki was worried about running into them."

Your heart dropped, remembering what—or more like who—you had to tell your parents about.
As if on cue, the door opened, your mom pushing your dad in on a wheelchair.
"Y/n!"
"Mom! Dad!" You greeted happily, squeezing her in a hug, despite her fussing that you shouldn't be moving.
"I'll be fine, mom." You moved to give her room to sit on the bed as Wanda said hi to them then excused herself.

Your dad gently squeezed your hand, unable to reach up to hug you fully.
After your mom finished updating you on everything going on with the family in the past two weeks, you decided to bring up Loki.
"What I'm about to tell you will make you angry, but I need you to hear me out, before you say anything." You bit your lip nervously.
"Ok...but whatever it is we won't be angry hun." Your mom assured, your dad nodding in agreement.

You cleared your throat, starting at when Thor had asked you to take Loki in, all the way to when you'd been ambushed and kidnapped.
You watched in fear as they sat there quietly, processing everything you'd just dropped in their laps.
"I'm sorry, I know you're really disappointed. But he's changed. I promise. I think he deserves a second chance." You finished, twisting your fingers in your lap.

Sickening silence filled the room before your dad rolled his wheelchair closer.
"You're right." He nodded.
You glanced up in shock.
"From what I've heard he cares about and respects you, deeply. And has changed. I understand he was being mind controlled in New York...I'm not mad."
You turned to your mom in surprise, as she smiled softly. "I agree. Any man deserves a second chance."
"So you...forgive him?" You felt immense relief bubbling up in you as your eyes filled with tears of joy.
"I forgave him the day I got back from the hospital." Your dad patted your leg.
"Thank you. Thank you for understanding. He really is changed, he feels terrible and tears himself apart for New York. I promise you'll like him."

The creak of the door opening interrupted.

Loki stepped in and froze completely. Staring like a deer in the headlights as your mom and dad turned to look at him.
"Mom...dad...meet Loki." You're voice was a little raspy from crying as you gestured for him to come further in.
"Y/n tells me that you've caught her eye." Your dad chuckled, and you wondered at his ability to take everything to lightly.
Loki blinked, glancing at you as you smiled and nodded, encouraging him.
"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry sir. If I could go back...if I could change what I've done." Loki's eyes welled with tears as he moved forward, kneeling next to your dad. "Please...please forgive me."
The humility and sincerity in his low voice astonished you. Never had you heard him so desperate, never had you seen him kneel.

Your father gently grasped his shoulder, bringing him in for a hug. "I already forgave you."
Loki's face was plastered with shock as his arms hung there, your father hugging him a few more seconds before letting go.
"We should go check in to the hotel, sweetheart." Your dad turned to your mom.
"We'll be back soon." Your mom kissed your cheek, standing and giving Loki a hug before pushing your dad out of the room.

Loki stood there silently.
You still couldn't believe something you'd seen as such a big deal had been handled so nonchalantly by your dad. If you'd just talked to him...
