A Royal Decree has been announced:

Hello, my readers! First and foremost, thank you for reading this story! It's still beginning so it might not seem much. As you can see from the first two chapters, they are in different POVs. I am trying to find a more comfortable way of writing for this story. Do you prefer it to be in 3rd person point of view (She/You) or do you prefer to read in 1st person (I) more? In this chapter, I am going to write in first person POV so tell me what you think about it, okay?

Your feedback is much appreciated, my dear readers. Anyways, enjoy the new chapter!

-1st Person POV-

    GROWLS~

I held my grumbling stomach as if to soothe my own hunger. After making my way back to the mansion, I was hit with a sudden wave of hunger.

'If I remember correctly, the last time I ate is the day before yesterday when I found that wild berry bush near that bear cave...' My mind wandered back to when I stumbled across a big cave in the middle of a small storm. I was looking for a dry place to take shelter in and the cave looked like it was the perfect place... if you exclude its inhabitant. Let's just say by the time night arrived, I had a dry shelter, a cooked meat roasting over a warm fire and a side dish of wild berries. Being who I am, I am used to eating little as there are not much food one can find near explored roads while travelling in the mountains. Usually, I would have entered further into the woods to find better food but I don't want to extend my travel longer than necessary. The heavy meal I had was enough to last me for two days.

The overgrown grass to my side rustled violently. My hands immediately went to my small but sharp dagger hidden in my pouch. A quick sniff at the air and I relaxed my stance. I slowly went to the long grass and separated them, revealing a small brown hare that quickly ran away deeper into the woods.

I let out a sigh. 'As much as it is tempting, I don't think I should eat meat now. Maybe I should find some berries? I could also fish from that big lake from before. Is there a small river connected to the lake near here?'

I stealthily explored the area of the forest behind my mansion. 'Getting lost isn't a problem as I could always track my way back home.' I suddenly stop in my tracks as a familiar waft of scent entered my sense of smell. I crouched low to the ground quickly. My sensitive ears straining to hear any unnatural sounds. My hands flat on the ground to feel any tremor or vibration.

'There's none near the area.' Except for the sound of the gentle breeze and the occasional chirps and whistles from small animals and birds, there were no large mammals around me. I cautiously followed the scent, body still low to the ground. My (e/c) eyes scanned the tracks in front of me, a frown carved itself onto my face. 'The tracks and scent are recent. They were standing still for a while and seemed to circle the area before running off. It seems there were two of them, one slightly larger than the other.'

I let out an annoyed 'tsk'. Seems like the Guardians of the Forest are spying on me. I stood up, brushing off the dirt and grass from my pants. "Damn, I can't even let myself loose at my own property now, can I?" I grumbled lowly as I walked back towards the direction of my mansion. 'Forget hunting, I'll just buy something from town and go fishing at the lake.'

As I left the dense forest behind me, the abnormally large wolf tracks I found were fresh in my mind, reminding me to not mess this all up if I want to live in this small remote town for a few more years.
