After swallowing the grapes stuck in his throat, Ye Zhizhou quickly opened the system information. He let out a relieved sigh after seeing that the plot didn't change, got up and then ran towards the study.
"Tingwei!" Ye Zhizhou pushed the study door open and discovered that Kang Run was also there. His eyes flashed before he gave a smile and asked, "Kang Run, why did you suddenly come back? Were you not just arrested and taken away by the Ministry of Justice to be a thug?" Initially, after Shen Tingwei finished with him, Kang Run was directly thrown into prison. Two months later, Kang Run asked to be enlisted in his army. Shen Tingwei gave him a chance and now, Kang Run is a soldier funded by the government, under the supervision of Shen Tingwei.
"Madam." Kang Run politely saluted him and responded respectfully, "The task has been completed. At the moment, this servant came to see the general to discuss the matter of my transfer to the general's troops."
"You want to join Tingwei's troops?" Ye Zhizhou was surprised and then smiled. He passed the bunch of grapes he was holding to Kang Run and said, "Then, congratulations. These grapes are produced by the Shen family, they're very sweet. Try some."
Kang Run hesitated for a moment and then reached to take it.
When Ye Zhizhou saw him take the grapes, he turned his head to look at Shen Tingwei, who came up to him and said with a happy face, "The play in the garden is very lively. Grandmother has been clamoring for you to keep her company. Since you're done with your business, you should go quickly."
Shin Tingwei frowned, took his hand and kneaded it. He asked softly, "Are you not coming?"
"I'm going to pick some more grapes." Ye Zhizhou took his hand back and then clapped them together. "The grapes at home are really good. You can go call a few guards to help me pick them. Their hands and feet are more nimble than the maids."
"Whatever you want." Shen Tingwei nodded and glanced at Kang Run on the side. "If you have no other matters, we can go watch the play together. The recent plays by the Chunxiu Garden troupe are very good. You can rest assured that the men's seats are separated from the women's seats. It's also a large garden."
Kang Run's obediently agreed, showing no trace of the once difficult trained assassin.
The three men separated at the entrance. Ye Zhizhou watched them walk far away before looking at the guards that came over in succession. He waved his hand, "Let's go. We're going to the small flower garden to pick some grapes."
"But..." The lead guard's expression twisted a bit and he whispered, "But there are no grapes in the small flower garden."
"There is one," he grinned and laughed. His spiritual power floated around him cheerfully. "There's a grape that's been growing secretly for half a year, it's about time to pick it."
On the other side, in the big garden, Shen Tingwei sat down with Kang Run. After the servant finished pouring some tea, he glanced at the grapes that Kang Run put down on the table and let out a rare laugh. "The grapes that Mingming said were sweet must be very good. Give it a taste. Speaking of that, I haven't tasted the grapes this time," when he finished saying this, he plucked one and ate it first.
Kang Run took the opportunity to also take a grape and place it in his mouth after seeing Shen Tingwei do it. The grape was the type that was large and purple with sweet flesh, lots of juice and was really delicious. After he swallowed one, he realized that the flavor was good and couldn't help picking another one repeatedly. In less than half an hour, all the grapes were eaten by him. He was a bit surprised at his gluttony. Halfway through the play, he got up and asked for permission to relieve himself. Shen Tingwei nodded, half distracted, seemingly too focused on watching the play.
