Dangerous or should I say Cancerous?
~ Chapter 1
"Beep, beep, beep," my alarm clock screeched. I groaned tossing over in bed and slamming my hand onto the snooze button. I sat up and rubbed my eyes. Another day of high school. I walked to my bathroom and took a quick shower. I let the warm water run down my back and take all my sleepiness with it. I jumped out and went to my closet. I pressed a button and out popped all my designer shorts. I grabbed my favorite pair and slipped into them. Then I pressed a button and as they went back in, my shirts popped out. I walked over scanning them carefully. I picked up a yellow tee that had a little diamonds around the hem and neckline. I slipped it over my head and looked at my sandals. I found my favorite pair and slipped into them. I walked out of my closet and into my bathroom. I blow dried my hair and took out my curling iron. After curling my hair, I applied on some light makeup. Satisfied with how I looked I walked down the grand stair case and into the kitchen. "Hey chef," I called out, just as the smell of eggs and bacon hit me. "Something smells good," I sang. You see by know you figured out that I'm, well I'm, I'm rich. My mom is a wedding planner and plans some of the biggest weddings in the world. My dad is the best lawyer in America. I am most definitely spoiled. But here's the catch. You see my mom and dad adopted me and my big brother because even though they tried my mom couldn't have a baby. I love my big brother to death. You see our real parents died in a car crash and we didn't have any other family, so here we are. After eating a quick breakfast I grabbed my backpack and ran out the door and jumped onto my skateboard heading to school.
As I reached the school, my friends came into view. I was a cheerleader, I did track & field, I played field hockey, I played basketball, I played volleyball, I was a horseback-rider, and a dancer. My brother was the quarterback of the football team, the captain of the basketball team and the mid-fielder for soccer. We were pretty good looking. My brother had a six-pack had green eyes and brown blondish hair. I had green eyes too but my hair was a red blonde. Even though we were athletic and crazy smart our friends weren't the cheerleaders and jocks. They were right in the middle. They weren't popular or losers. My best friend Lauren ran up to me. Her straight blonde hair flying in the wind and her blue eyes sparkling with excitement. "Guess what?!?" she yelled. "What?" I asked. Usually it was a story about which freshman had been prank'd or which teacher started dating another teacher, or which cheerleader was dumped and currently throwing textbooks at the poor guy in the hallway. "We have a new kid and let me tell you he is H-O-T hot!" she yelled. "Lauren, calm down. Its just another kid," I said. This happened everytime we got a new guy. Lauren would be jumping up and down withexcitement. Then they'd go on one date and Lauren would decidie he wasn't exciting and dump him. "But, bu-." "Nope, I don't wanna hear it." "But." "Uh uh," I said in my its final voice. I heard footsteps and before I could turn around my eyes were covered. "Let go Tris," I said in my bored voice. Tristan is my brother and probably the only reason I can't date. Anytime a guy approaches me Tris glares at them and boom they turn around and walk away. You know how every girl has that best guy friend. You know the one they grew up with and tell everything too. Sometimes the one they trust more than there girl friends. Yea I don't have that, thanks to yours truly Tris. But I love him. He let go and started to walk to class after a quick goodbye wave.
As I walked into class I took a seat behind Lauren. We started talking about random things. Ms. Jenna cleared her throat and we all looked up to see the hottest boy ever. "Everyone this is Joel. He is our new student." The class mumbled there own ways of hi. "Who would like to show Joel around?" The cheerleaders hands all shot up as they all gave him flirtatious smiles. I looked down at my sandals. "How about you Ms. Evers?" My head went up. "Um ok sure," I mumbled. "Wonderful." The bell rang and we all grabbed our bags and ran to our first classes. Lauren turned around and winked at me before skipping down the hall. I walked up to Joel and he looked up giving me a heart melting smile. "Hi," I said, "I'm Cecilia but everyone calls me Cici." "Hey," he said and his voice was deep and wonderful. I can't be falling for him already. I barely know him and plus guy like him will be a player jock in no time. "Let me see your schedule." He pulled it out of his bag and I looked down at the piece of paper.
- Homeroom (room 113 1st floor)
- English (room 201 2nd floor)
- Biology (room 117 1st floor)
- Social Studies (room 315 3rd floor)
- Gym (gymnasium 2nd floor)
- Lunch (lunchroom 1st floor)
- Study Hall (library 3rd floor)
- Spanish (room 115 1st floor)
- Art (room 219 2nd floor)
My mouth dropped open. 'What's wrong?" "Um nothing. Its just that we have all the same classes." "You mean I get to see your beautiful face all day? I must be super lucky." I blushed at his compliment. "Ms. Jenna could you call Mrs. Johnson and Mr. Smith and tell them Joel and I will be missing their classes?" "Of course Ms. Evers." We walked out of the classroom just as the final bell rang. "What number is your locker?" "Um," he looked down at his schduale, "its locker 241." "Weird my lockers 242," I said. "It must be destiny," he said. I walked down the now deserted halls and we reached his locker. He spun the dial and started putting in his books. He pulled out a picture of him and a girl and taped it to the inside of the locker. My face fell. He had a girlfriend. "That's my little sister," he explained. My face lit up again like a Christmas tree. "What about you?" he asked. "What about me?" "Do you have any siblings?" "Yeah. My big brother. You should meet him," I said. We walked down the halls as I showed him all the classrooms and told him which teachers to kiss up to. Which one gave a lot of homework and which ones were nice. Just then second period bell rang the doors burst open and student flooded out. Tristen came running up to me and put his arm around me. "Hey Cici." He looked over at Joel and glared at him. "Tristen this is the new kid Joel. Joel this is Tristen." They exchanged quick hellos. The bell rang signaling the start of second period and Tristen placed a quick peck on my cheek and ran down the hall. "See you at lunch," he called over his shoulder. "Was that your boyfriend?" asked Joel as the hallways cleared of students. I burst out laughing. "Nope, that's my big brother Tristen." I could have sworn I saw relief flash in his eyes as a big smile took over his face. "Sorry for him being so cold towards you. He just doesn't like guys near me." "No problem I'm the same with my little sister." I showed him the rest of the school, giving him a list of do's and don'ts. We walked into social studies and sat in the back. Lauren walked in and I waved her over. After introducing her and Joel, Mrs. Halverson began her long speech about Ancient Rome. I already knew it all by heart being the nerd I was but I think Joel surprised all of us with his quick answers. After Social Studies I ran to my locker and stuffed my bag into it. I ran into the locker room and began to change. Today we were doing volleyball, a sport I was great at. I changed into my way to short shorts that had the blue and yellow striped at the bottom and put on my bulldogs tee with a neckline a bit deeper then I was used too. Guess who ordered the uniforms? The cheerleaders. I wonder why they show more cleavage then I like. I laughed to myself and looked around for Lauren. I saw her stretching and ran over and started stretching myself. "You and Joel are getting pretty close." I laughed but as my head shot up I'm sure my eyes dilated. There was Joel looking sexy as hell. I'm sure I was drooling. "Yea, ok your guys aren't getting close or anything," said Lauren sarcastically. I turned around and wiped my face just in case I really was drooling. His brown hair was messed up in a "i just got out of bed" look and he pulled it off wonderfully. He had on a tight white shirt showing off his six pack and basketball shorts. I though he was hot before. I now stand corrected. He started walking over to me and Lauren and I found myself panicking. "Do I look ok?" "You look like a goddess just like any other day." I bent down reaching for my toes and as I came up I saw him doing the same. Our eyes met and I found myself blushing and looking away. This was gonna be a long gym class.
