don't blame me

Sydney

It was a very hectic few days after the night at Blue Tunes. I flew out to London the next morning and got straight into work. My weeks away in New York were always fun, but it meant I had a lot to do when I was back.

There was a lot to do before Christmas, which was in a couple of weeks.

I was writing with a few artists in the industry for their albums, whilst also juggling some song ideas for myself.

It wasn't too stressful, I took my album at its own pace. It would be ready when it was perfect. I had a couple songs ideas but it definitely wasn't anywhere close to being finished. There was no pressure.

I was just very busy, which was almost good. Work was a positive distraction.

Whilst I was writing for myself, I had been contacted through my team to work with some other artists. This one one of my favourite things to do. Working with other people, and hearing their ideas was so much fun.

One of my absolute favourite people on Earth, Taylor Swift, had asked me to write with her for her album: Reputation. It was all very hush hush so no one knew, but I was beyond ecstatic. She was keeping low-key in the media, and working on an insane come back album.

I had been the biggest fan of Taylor my whole life, and it was an honour to be writing with her and Jack.

We'd been working for a few days, and Taylor told me to really let out all my emotions with this song. They had both shown me a few of the songs they had perfected like Look What You Made Me Do, Getaway Car and I Did Something Bad.

All incredible.

She explained to me that in this album she was doing whatever the hell she wanted. What a bad ass. So that's exactly what I did too.

"Okay so I've written a couple of verses, feel free to stop me and add in or change stuff" I smiled at both Taylor and Jack in front of me.

They nodded, and I placed my fingers delicately on the piano keys.

Don't blame me, love made me crazy
If it doesn't, you ain't doin' it right
Lord, save me, my drug is my baby
I'd be usin' for the rest of my life

I sang softly, but took in a large breath and changed the pace slightly.

I've been breakin' hearts a long time, and
Toyin' with them older guys
Just to play things for me to use
Something happened for the first time, in
The darkest little paradise
Shakin, pacin', I just need you

I hummed along where I hadn't added anything and Taylor spoke up and said "Okay um...for...for you...I would cross my mind...I would waste my time-"

Jack quickly interrupted and said "For you, I would cross the line...I waste my time...I would lose my mind."

Mine and Taylor's faces lit up, and she started clapping in excitement.

"Yes yes! Ok then...they...they say she's gone too far this time...then go into the beginning again Syd?" She asked, and I quickly began playing again and singing it all together.
