I awoke to the smell of linen and medicinal covered towels. Opening my eyes, I was met by Uraraka, her round face only inches away from mine as her warm brown hair hung over me, her lips curved into a kind smile.

"You guys, she's awake now!" She said excitedly.

I placed my hands on each side of my body, sliding upwards to sit upright. Looking around the room, I noticed not only Uraraka, but Tsu, Shoto, and the green-haired boy from before.

"Welcome back. You had us all quite worried when you fainted, Kasami." Mentioned Shoto, his eyes filled with focus.

"Yeah, sorry about that by the way." I laughed nervously.

"No need to apologize, as long as you're okay!" Tsu chimed in from behind Uraraka.

The green-haired boy stepped forward. "Hey Kasami, what happened back there by the way?"

My eyebrows dropped for a moment, trying to refocus my attention on what happened before I passed out.

"Well, I was fighting Bakugo, then we finished and I released him from the water cage thing I had him in. Then I went outside to meet up with everyone, but all of a sudden everything went dark and my body gave out, and now I'm here." I stated, shrugging nonchalantly.

"Speaking of Kachaan, he seemed really angry after the training. Like, angrier than usual." Mentioned the green-haired boy, who was now sitting in the chair next to my stretcher.

"Yeah, Deku's right. Bakugo looked way madder than he usually does, and that's saying a lot." Said Tsu, facing the green-haired boy.

Deku, huh. Interesting.

"Agreed. Bakugo didn't even speak to any of us in the locker room afterwards. Not that it would be anything overwhelmingly positive if he did speak, but he usually takes time to boast about his "superiority" compared to us, at the very least." Added Shoto, making air quotes with his fingers.

Turning back to face me, Deku asked, "Do you guys have some sort of history?"

History is an understatement.

"You could say that. We definitely have a past."

Everyone in the room's eyes widened in fascination.

"You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to, Kasami." Said Deku, reassuring me that whatever I chose would be fine.

I gave him a nod, and continued. "When I was younger, we were neighbors for a while. We would have sleepovers regularly, and go on play dates because our moms were also best friends. We got our quirks at around the same time as well, and we would train with each other. As the years went on, we grew closer and eventually caught feelings for each other. At least that's how I felt."

Deku and Uraraka both cocked their heads slowly in intrigue, both of them very interested in the story.

"Eventually," I started, "The time came to start high school. The plan was for us to both attend UA, but I had my heart set on Shiketsu. I broke the news to him, and he decided it was best to break up, and that's putting it nicely. He never really explained why, but I assumed it was because of the distance. The most frustrating part was that I never got an answer, though."

"Oh, I'm so sorry Kasami." Said Uraraka, empathetically kneeling by my side.

"Eh it's fine now. Things happen." I replied, shrugging. "Anywho, fast forward a month or so and I'm forced to move to this area and I was unable to continue attending Shiketsu due to the distance. Luckily I was able to schedule a late tryout, because if not I would have had to wait an entire year before I could attend UA. I ended up not needing the tryout however, because I got in on recommendation so a different day got scheduled anyway. Bakugo and I met for the first time in a while today during the training, so I guess old feelings resurfaced and they weren't exactly positive.

"I'm really sorry, Kasami." Deku consoled.

"Eh, it's cool. Also, can I leave now? I'd like to take a shower and maybe explore the dorms a bit."

"Sure. I'll take Deku with me to check with Recovery Girl first, and we'll let you know if you're released." Shoto told me, turning casually to leave, Deku following closely behind.

After they left, I turned to Uraraka, who was still knelt beside my stretcher. "Hey, who exactly is Recovery Girl? Is she a nurse here or something?"

"Yeah Exactly! She's the nurse for UA, and she patches up everyone all the time, her quirk is a healing kind." She said smiling. "If anyone knows about it, it's Deku. He's always getting hurt so he's in here like every other day." She joked, giving a light-hearted laugh, her hair bouncing lively.

Tsu turned to face us and added, "Recovery Girl is the best, ribbit. She heals us up all the time and she does it super fast."

I laughed jokingly. "Well at least I know who to come to the next time I collapse."

Both girls laughed nervously, not sure whether or not it was acceptable for them to do so.

"Speaking of, where's the boys? I thought they went to see Recovery Girl a bit ago, ribbit." Asked Tsu.

Almost as if we spoke them into existence, Todoroki and Deku both rounded the corner and joined us in the room, followed by who I guessed was Recovery Girl.

Pointing to the round-faced woman, I asked, "You're Recovery Girl then, right? Am I free to go?"

She turned to me with a warm smile and replied, "Sure dear. It was just due to exhaustion. You can't use that much power without practice, it puts a great strain on your body."

I nodded my head in agreement. "I won't, I promise."

She gave me a small nod before my hand was grabbed by Uraraka, who was now pulling me toward the door in eagerness.

"Cmon Kasami! I want to give you a tour of the dorms!" She giggled, grinning from cheek to cheek as she pulled me hurriedly past everyone and out of the infirmary.

Her hands were warm, and her hair smelled faintly of strawberries as the air wove between each strand.

I could feel my face heating with each glide we took. We were moving so quickly, and yet it felt almost angelic, as if I was floating. Sounds pretty silly, considering I can float when I want, but this...this feeing was completely different. I'm not exactly a fan of this feeling. It felt as if a fire had been ignited and set my cheeks ablaze. It was an unprecedented warmth, one I hadn't felt in a very long time. It lit a fire in me, and strangely, I welcomed it.

But that's the thing about fire.

Inevitably, you get burnt.
